UP!DIANA:
Fiat Driver Shot Twice In
Head
- HENCE NOT SUICIDE! James Andanson, the
paparazzi photographer at the centre of investigations into Princess Diana’s death died
with 2 bullet holes in his head, it is claimed.
He
had followed the Princess’s every move in the week before her death,
and was thought to have committed suicide when his burnt corpse was
found in a car wreckage in the
French countryside.
But now the fireman who discovered the body, Christophe Pelat, has said: “I saw him at close range and I’m absolutely convinced that he had been shot in the head, twice.” The revelation threatens to blow apart the inquest on Diana. Harrods owner Mohamed Al Fayed, whose son Dodi, 42, also died, is now demanding that Mr Pelat be called to give evidence at the inquest – or at least that his account is heard. Police are certain that Andanson, a 54 year old millionaire, was a regular informer for both MI6, and French agencies. He has been one of the key figures in the mystery surrounding the fatal crash, which happened 10 years ago next month. As
a leading paparazzi photographer, he had spent weeks following the
36-year-old Princess, as her romance with Dodi blossomed .
Many who have studied the accident closely believe it was Andanson who was driving the white Fiat Uno which clipped Diana’s Mercedes seconds before the crash, as part of a complicated assassination plot. >> i too have always considered it was an assassination. The car was repainted shortly after the Alma tunnel crash, and was sold by Andanson in October 1997. French police are now expected to reopen the investigation into Andanson’s death. But he was never properly interviewed by the authorities, and within 3 years of the tragedy, he was found dead. His body, found in thick woodland, was so badly charred that it took police nearly a month before DNA and dental records confirmed his identity. The
official verdict was suicide. Now the first fire officer on the scene,
has suggested he may have been murdered. His claim supports conspiracy
theories that Andanson was himself assassinated by secret agents
because he knew too much about the plot which killed Diana.

The first crop is expected to be given the go-ahead by the end of this month! "We hope that it will have been approved . . . so that it will be ready for planting next year", said a spokesman for BASF, the proud German company that created the mutant potato. The move is bound to reignite the pan-European backlash against GM crops of the late 1990s, which forced the European Union to impose an effective moratorium on the crops. Since then no crops have been approved for cultivation, although permission has been given to import some varieties for animal feed. Many Europeans have slept more easily in their beds because of it. But now it has emerged that dossiers on another 3 crops, all modified forms of maize, are being prepared by the commission, which will recommend they be approved for cultivation. They could be given the green light in time for next year's planting season. Applications for other crops, including rapeseed, are in the pipeline. >> how come it's gonna take 5 years to get Bush before a firing squad but he can LEGALLY impose millions of potential European deaths in less than a year?! Most of the GM crops under consideration by the commission are designed for food or animal feed and are not much different to those that sparked the original consumer backlash. UP! Wars

Against the Pope's Latest Move Rabbi Michael Lerner
Sharply Critiques the Pope's Re-introduction of the Latin Mass
While I share with many Catholics the concern that this is only the
first step in the process of dismantling the powerful commitment of
Vatican II towards moving the Church bask toward the social justice,
peace and love-oriented teachings of Jesus, as a Jew I am
particularly concerned about the re-legitimation of praying for the conversion of
the Jews.Jews have good reason for fear. From the moment the Church took power over the Roman empire in the 4th century C.E., it has used that power consistently to demean Judaism and to oppress Jews. It frequently used its huge influence in Europe to convince state power to murder, torture, or simply expel the Jewish people from country after country. The Inquisition was only the most visible of the systematic attempts to coerce the Jewish people into conversion or expulsion. It was only the triumph of the secular order through the French Revolution and the American Revolution that its secular power began to decrease, though it continued to teach hatred of Jews in its churches. The legacy of that hatred was all-too-manifest in the Concordat that Pope Pius XII made with Hitler, and the failure of the Church to call upon its priests and laity to offer protection and assistance to Jews who were being hunted down and murdered in the millions. It was this disgraceful legacy that Pope John XXIII sought to rectify in part by eliminating the teacher of hatred that was a central ingredient to the Latin Mass. Convinced that the call for conversion of the Jews was a central element in the process of demeaning Judaism, he sought to eliminate that teaching from the life of the Church, and instead to introduce the notion that Judaism should be thought of as a sister religion, not one that must be overcome and obliterated. But there was one critical failure of Vatican II: it did not order the Church to explicitly teach its members and priests about the role that the Church had played in developing massive anti-Semitism throughout its history. As a result, it provided no way for its priests and members to understand why anti-Semitism was so prevalent in Europe, what had fostered it, and why it was so easily accessible to dictators like Hitler and Stalin as they sought to win popular support by providing a secular version of the anti-Semitism that Christianity had propagated for 16 centuries. Cardinal Ratzinger, head of the Church division which originally directed the Inquisition before he became today's Pope, has taken a powerful step toward the re-introduction of the process of demeaning Jews. You cannot respect another religion if you teach that those who are part of it must convert to your own. Interfaith respect is based on acceptance that people who do not become part of your own religion nevertheless deserve respect, and their religious commitments cannot be treated as something which must be overcome and left behind. Although such notions of mutual respect are not honored recently in the practice of the U.S. government which currently believes it has the right to murder people in other countries and invade and topple their governments if they do not share the religion of capitalism and democracy, all spiritual progressives believe that this approach to the world is barbaric. >> again am reminded of people who look backwards for their moral compass and those, like the rabbi here, who look forwards, towards some approaching socially just society to which they feel deep in their hearts we should be heading. So, just as we oppose these policies in our own government, we join in supporting the many Catholics who are part of the Network of Spiritual Progressives who are dismayed and outraged at this latest assault on interfaith cooperation by the Pope, recognizing it as a first step on a slippery slope toward the restoration of anti-Semitism in the Church as well as the restoration of authoritarian and feudal ways of thinking that they had hoped would be relegated to the garbage bins of history. We see this move as wildly insensitive and further proof of the Church's need to systematically teach its priests and its members about the disgraceful role it played in fostering anti-Semitism through the centuries, and how the teachings of hatred, and the need to convert the Jews, played into that anti-Semitism. www.spiritualprogressives.org UP! UP! I'm glad to see people finally disrespecting Glastonbury I was appalled at the site of people waving union jacks in the crowd when I have watched on TV in recent years. I was lucky enough to go a few times when you could get in free and remember Ian Brown burning a union jack on stage and people cheering. Since then its turned into an extension of hollyoaks and football culture that seems to be dominating peoples minds these days. I was also there one year care of a friend at the BBC and my VIP tickets were stolen by the security on my way out to sleep in my van, luckily I was not beaten up but I heard many stories of people who were that night. What can I say it's gone balls up like most exciting things that happen in our culture - like the mushroom loophole. Keep up the good work I do not feel alone in thinking when I receive your UP! James Kay, Liverpool, UK up! A Green Boycott
of Glastonbury Festival?
Fraser,
you and I don't always agree, but when it comes
to Eavis and Glastonbury, I think you're spot
on.
Over the last 10 years, the original spirit of Glastonbury embodied in the Greenfields has been
progressively eroded by the gradual encroachment of Babylon. Since the
fence got bigger, only those able to afford the entry fee can go,
excluding those on low incomes - the very people who created the
special vibe when fence jumping was de rigeur.
What frustrates me is that some people from
within our movement still allow themselves to be exploited by Eavis - working for peanuts up
in the Greenfield while
the bigger acts rake it in down in Babylon. The last I worked there,
the entire Green Futures field was run on a budget of £16k - whereas
Rod Stewart got £8.5k for one set on the main stage. These gross
inqualities reflect those in society at large - Eavis makes no effort
to tackle or address them but, knowing that the eco-types are still
enthralled by the Glastonbury myth and rhetoric, can continue to rely
on them working for a pittance.
>> precisely what i found! But the people who still put on the Green Fields, Sam and Jean from Green Futures, Liz Elliot and
others, let him off the hook - putting on their amazing shows for
peanuts, working festival after festival for the love of it while
Babylon rakes it in. If all the Green Field people boycotted
Glastonbury, the festival would lose its 'alternative spirit' overnight,
or at least the pretence of one, and it would become just like any
other commercial festival, albeit with a slightly more diverse line-up.
I once wrote an article (using a pseudonym) for
the Big Issue
about the gradual encroachment and commercialisation of Glasto. They
used it as their cover story. Apparently Eavis was so pissed off he
banned me for life!
>> me too. for judiciously extracting my just karma from him. If you are ever up for organsing a Green boycott
of Glasto or taking on the hollow rhetoric, I'd be well up for
helping. In 1997, Channel 4
news and Newsnight
followed the Big Issue
story. Our combined cultural muscle might just have an impact.

time u take on a dino and i've paid plenny. plus u also become the
next generation's dino. it's already happened to me (even excepting
yourself) and it's seemed extraordinarily unfair, so i have to decide
if eavis really really really deserves it. >> certainly when u look at the gore concerts the week after glasto u can absolutely see how HUGE a part and leader of all that the Glastonbury Festival SHOULD have become! goddess, gore shoulda been at glasto! in live tv linkage with all the other concerts wordwide! (instead of eartha kitt?) leading the way as it DID and SHOULD be now. maybe eavis should be left with his piece of tinsel tv rockshow but be forced to allow another 'pure' version at a later date OR WE BOYCOTT :) what do you say UPPies?!
