Peak Oil - Managing Collapse.
Most oil geologists estimate Peak Oil
will arrive within the decade, when the planet's production of
oil will start to drop, meanwhile demand increases 3-4% per year.
When demand exceeds supply the price will rise.
A French bank estimates oil will be $380
a barrel by 2015. Already in the last year oil prices
have increased 70% mainly due to
hurricanes and war.
Obviously, our society, inflated on cheap energy and consumption, will be
hard pressed to cope with such vast increases in the cost of energy, and,
as less energy goes into the balloon of the economy, it will
deflate.
