4 U.S.
CLOSES
SYRIAN EMBASSY
The U.S. closed its embassy in
Damascus
on Thursday for
“security
reasons”, the mission said in a
website statement.
“The embassy
will be closed to the public on Thursday, November 4, 2004 to enable it
to reassess its security
posture”.
An official at the embassy refused to give any further details. He
said that the embassy will be closed for just one day, although the
mission is usually shut on Fridays and Saturdays.
There has been
tension
between Syria and the US over the past few months, and the relation
between the two countries have long been
strained.
In May the U.S. imposed
economic
sanctions on Syria, claiming it
was supporting
terrorism and preparing to
produce weapons
of mass destruction, charges
strongly denied by Syria.
>> but made much more likely by
American belligerence, as in iran or any country with a loyal government
dedicated to its people’s safety.
In October, the UN, backed by the US and France, submitted a
resolution demanding Syria to withdraw all its troops from Lebanon and
end what it called a foreign interference in the country’s affairs

bush
victory
i was so sure ‘we’
were winning that, on the evening as we awaited results on tv (BBC) i was
calling up friends to try to make straight bets with them. bush had
long since descended into the same empty punch-drunk speech night after
night while kerry was hammering away and iraq was falling apart as the
planned post-election
Falluja
destruction
karma
hummed its way up the gears.
but it was more than that. it was a ‘feeling’ in the air.
the
Future was
breaking
through!
ok, maybe it was wish fulfilment i don’t know, but more and more
commentators in the overground press were beginning to predict a large
kerry victory too. and, if the heavily in-step corporate media kept
calling it
“neck and
neck” then it
MUST be swinging kerry’s way. all those millions of new
voters. the proven fact that an incumbent needs a 4% lead in the
polls to have any real chance. the proven fact that an incumbent
needs to be getting a regular 50%+ to have any chance. the
un-interviewed cell phone users and first time voters (get that maniac
out of the white house!)
and then the first exit polls started coming in and the correspondent
at republican hq was reporting doubts and worries there and how she
couldn’t find anyone to interview while the democrats were reported as
being cockahoop and lining up to be interviewed. this continued for
several hours.
so how could the polls have been so wrong, how could journalists have got
it so wrong, the exit polls be so wrong? dammit
HOW COULD
I
HAVE GOT IT SO WRONG???!!!
i went to bed
at 6am GMT with no result but apparent curtains for kerry and the
future. i awoke to this, the first post-election email in my

THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT THE DINOS WILL NOW BE SEEN

AS FULLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN MESS
(deepest apologies to the 150,000 iraqis who must now die to prove it)
what happened on 9/11 is this. a bourgeois couple is watching the revolution against an Ancient Evil Empire in their home city, the masses on the street, the cries, the many different cultural types etc. “oh, look, george” points the wife, “that looks like our street on the tv!” at which point a brick smashes through their window.
9/11 was that brick. all the bourgeois, church-attending couples in the west have been paying for the greed-and-power driven schemes of their ruling elite all these years while the latter have spent quadrillions of their tax dollars to keep them in cushy ignorance of what’s going on.
but in the Divine Court, the global atrocities committed in their names and with their money makes all these ‘ordinary people’ ultimately responsible. all my adult life my rantings, condemnations, warnings and inspirations to a Better Life have been spurned and ignored by such people who were always too busy ‘getting ahead’ and too accepting of the Official Lies to listen. yet, in a democracy, they are responsible!
when that brick crashed through the window of the carefully orchestrated and maintained ‘Frame’ around them, these people became aware of a ‘world out there’. that’s why this election has been, for the first time ever in their history, about foreign affairs. this is supremely healthy for them and for the rest of the world.
i appeal to my more cynical allies to not blame the american public for getting it wrong at their first attempt :)

Here's a possible explanation. As my friend said who sent this to me, "I am sure
some will disagree with this analysis, but until this anomaly is fully explained from non-partisan sources (if we have them), many will always wonder if this was indeed a fair election."

Fixed - The Stealing Of Another Election
Kerry Winning Exit Polls - FRAUD LOOKS PROBABLE
[Democratic Underground.com]
SoCalDem has done a statistical analysis...
...in several swing states, and EVERY STATE that has EVoting but no paper trails has an unexplained advantage for Bush of around +5% when comparing exit polls to actual results.
In EVERY STATE that has paper audit trails on their EVoting, the exit poll results match the actual results reported, within the margin of error.
So, we have MATCHING RESULTS for exit polls vs. voting with audits
vs.
A 5% unexplained advantage for Bush without audits.
Maybe Dubayah believes God will see him through this, but it's going to take more than blind faith to pull the wool over the data and the facts.
Analysis of the polling data vs. actual data and voting systems supports the hypothesis that evoting may be to blame in the discrepancies. Nevada has evoting but with verified receipts. In that state the Exit Polling matches the actual results within 1% accuracy. However for other swing states Bush has unexplainable leads. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.ph...

As known all along, the Republican plan was for a complete rigging of those voting machines with no paper ballots, and this is exactly what the they have done. In states where there were paper ballots the results exactly matched the exit polls. In states where there were only paperless voting machines, Bush showed an inexplicable 5-8 point or more difference from the polls, contradicting otherwise accurate exit polls. The evidence is clear, but those who will attend to it will be few, as the implications are too much for most people to contemplate.

How The Election Was Stolen
by Roz Hill
I watched the election results all night and into this morning. There are some very important issues to share.
One is the surprise expressed by the pundits wherein they acknowledge that the massive voter drives were propelled by discontent. So how did the most hated occupant of the White House manage to exceed his 45% poll average to now claim he has a huge "popular" win.
We are told that 22% voted on "morality" and that Bush took 80% of that 22%, and that is how he won. However, that leaves 78% who were focused on Kerry issues. Why aren’t we told the percentages of the 78%???
The second surprise for the media was that the results didn’t match the exit polls AT ALL. The media has gracefully claimed they "just got it wrong." You remember we didn’t have exit pollsters in 2002. It saved any disagreement with THAT Republican "sweep." In fact, the pollsters have always been 100% accurate, with just 1 to 2% polling data, in legitimate elections. Bush took the Texas governorship from Ann Richards when she had a 70% approval rating. Is it magic?
I have SCREAMED since 2000 that if we don’t get rid of touch-screen "voting" computers, NOTHING, NOTHING, NOTHING else will matter.
So, here are the numbers (so far): 112,596,922 voters counted in the presidential race. Bush has been consistently polling at 45%, which SHOULD have given him 50,668,614 votes, instead of 58,073,612. This translates into 7,404,998 votes being siphoned off from Kerry votes. Now, how does that magic work???
EACH of the touch-screen "voting" computers which cost taxpayers $3600 each are nothing more than dedicated COUNTERS except that they are marketed by Republicans (who vowed to ensure Bush’s victory); and the American people have not been allowed to examine or certify the software in these units.
Here is how easy it is to "make magic"
-- we need COUNTERS - (B) = Bush; (K) = Kerry; (V) = Vote; (T) = Tally
1. If V = B, add 1 to B
2. If T = 8, add 1 to B; Clear T; Skip 3
3. If V = K, add 1 to K; Add 1 to T
This extremely simple bit of programming would shift 12% of the vote from Kerry to Bush, it would defy exit polls, and it would make it look like Bush had a huge popular win. It is time that the software in these SECRET Republican-owned computers be examined with a deliberate check for instructions that could modify the vote tally.
Al-Qaeda has previously regarded the American people as victims of a crooked election in 2000. Now they regard Americans as responsible for letting this man - regarded as the worst terrorist on the planet - continue his tyrannous regime. I doubt that the rest of the world will accept four more years of his lies and looting.

Will Bush Backers Manipulate Votes
to Deliver GW Another Election?
Amy Goodman and the staff of Democracy Now!
Conflicts of interest exist between the largest suppliers of electronic voting machines in the United States and key leaders in the Republican Party. While the voting machines themselves present some technical issues, the political affiliations within the voting machine industry pose even more serious questions. The 3 major companies involved in implementing the new, often faulty, technology at voting stations throughout the country have strong ties to the Bush Administration, Republican leaders, and major defence contractors.
It must be noted that under the Help America Vote Act control over the electoral process has been taken away from local officials and placed in the hands of a very small number of for-profit corporations. In effect we are privatising America's most public endeavour.

The Ultimate Felony Against Democracy
by Thom Hartmann / CommonDreams.org
The hot story in the Blogosphere is that the "erroneous" exit polls that showed Kerry carrying Florida and Ohio (among other states) weren't erroneous at all - it was the numbers produced by paperless voting machines that were wrong, and Kerry actually won.
As more and more analysis is done of what may (or may not) be the most massive election fraud in the history of the world, however, it's critical that we keep the largest issue at the forefront at all time: Why are We The People allowing private, for-profit corporations, answerable only to their officers and boards of directors, and loyal only to agendas and politicians that will enhance their profitability, to handle our votes?
Over time - and through the efforts of some very motivated investigative reporters - we may well find out (Bev Harris of www.blackboxvoting.org just filed what may be the largest Freedom of Information Act [FOIA} filing in history), and bloggers and investigative reporters are discovering an odd discrepancy in exit polls being largely accurate in paper-ballot states and oddly inaccurate in touch-screen electronic voting states Even raw voter analyses are showing extreme oddities in touch-screen-run Florida, and eagle-eyed bloggers are finding that news organizations are retroactively altering their exit polls to coincide with what the machines ultimately said.
About 2 years ago, I wrote a story for these pages, "If You Want To Win An Election, Just Control The Voting Machines," that exposed how Senator Chuck Hagel had, before stepping down and running for the U.S. Senate in Nebraska, been the head of the voting machine company (now ES&S) that had just computerized Nebraska's vote. he Washington Post (1/13/1997) said Hagel's "Senate victory against an incumbent Democratic governor was the major Republican upset in the November election."
According to Bev Harris, Hagel won virtually every demographic group, including many largely black communities that had never before voted Republican. Hagel was the first Republican in 24 years to win a Senate seat in Nebraska, nearly all on un-auditable machines he had just sold the state. And in all probability, Hagel will run for President in 2008.
In another, later article I wrote for MoveOn.org, I noted that in Georgia - another state that went all-electronic - "USA Today reported on Nov. 3, 2002, 'In Georgia, an Atlanta Journal-Constitution poll shows Democratic Sen. Max Cleland with a 49%-to-44% lead over Republican Rep. Saxby Chambliss. 'Cox News Service, based in Atlanta, reported just after the election (Nov. 7) that, "Pollsters may have goofed" because 'Republican Rep. Saxby Chambliss defeated incumbent Democratic Sen. Max Cleland by a margin of 53 to 46%. The Hotline, a political news service, recalled a series of polls Wednesday showing that Chambliss had been ahead in none of them. '" Nearly every vote in the state was on an electronic machine with no audit trail.
In the years since those first articles appeared, Bev Harris has published her book on the subject ("Black Box Voting"), including the revelation of her finding the notorious "Rob Georgia" folder on Diebold's FTP site just after Cleland's loss there; Lynn Landes has done some groundbreaking research, particularly her new investigation of the Associated Press, as have Rebecca Mercuri and David Dill. There's a new video out on the topic, Votergate, available at www.votergate.tv.
Congressman Rush Holt introduced a bill into Congress requiring a voter-verified paper ballot be produced by all electronic voting machines, and it's been co-sponsored by a majority of the members of the House of Representatives. The two-year battle fought by Dennis Hastert and Tom DeLay to keep it from coming to a vote, thus insuring that there will be no possible audit of the votes of about a third of the 2004 electorate, has fuelled the flames of conspiracy theorists convinced Republican ideologues - now known to be willing to lie in television advertising - would extend their "ends justifies the means" morality to stealing the vote "for the better good of the country" they think single-party Republican rule will bring.
Most important, though, the rallying cry of the emerging "honest vote" movement must become: Get Corporations Out Of Our Vote! Why have we let corporations into our polling places, locations so sacred to democracy that in many states even international election monitors and reporters are banned? Why are we allowing corporations to exclusively handle our vote, in a secret and totally invisible way? Particularly a private corporation founded, in one case, by a family that believes the Bible should replace the Constitution; in another case run by one of Ohio's top Republicans; and in another case partly owned by Saudi investors?

KARL ROVE'S TURD DROPPINGS ALL OVER
Grand Theft Election
by Wayne Madsen
Karl Rove, the political sorcerer who is called "turd blossom" by his political master George W. Bush has his nasty fingerprints all over the 2004 Election in a scam that can best be called "Grand Theft Election."
There was something very wrong in Ohio, which Bush claims he won handily. Not only had the head of computer voting machine maker Diebold and Ohio's Republican establishment of Governor Bob Taft and Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell conspired to suppress registration and voter turnout in heavily Democratic precincts but the Ohio Secretary of State web site was only reporting results from 9 counties as of 11:30 AM on November 3, just three hours before John Kerry conceded the election to Bush. Totalling the results from the 9 counties (Fayette, Fairfield, Geauga, Jefferson, Portage, Mahoning, Trumbull, Richland, and Washington), John Kerry was clearly ahead. A 10th county, Columbiana, suspiciously showed up as "NO RESULTS."
The totals from the 8 Ohio counties reported on the Secretary of State web site were:
BUSH 267,771
KERRY 294,648
There has to be a way for those of us who voted for Kerry and Edwards to sue Diebold Chief Executive Walden O'Dell and Diebold board member W.R. Timken for conspiring to deliver Ohio's electoral votes to Bush. O'Dell and Timken are also top fundraisers for Bush, so-called "Pioneers." O'Dell told the Cleveland Plain Dealer in 2003 that he was "committed to helping Ohio deliver its electoral votes to the president next year."
The fact that Diebold machines were used in the Ohio rip-off should make O'Dell and Timken the subjects of criminal investigations. Of course, that will not happen in a GOP vassal state like Ohio. But why not a civil suit by those of us nationwide who voted for Kerry and had our presidency stolen from us as a result of racketeering and corrupt practices by a cabal of Republicans and fat cat corporate types? In a civil suit, through the process of discovery, O'Dell's and Timken's e-mails, letters, and other records could be ordered open by a judge. They could also be deposed as witnesses before plaintiffs' attorneys.
Then there were the strange hiccups with the official election web sites reporting results in states and counties across the nation.
During the morning of November 3, attempts to access the Pinellas County, Florida Election web site < http://www.co.pinellas.fl.us/soe> were met with the following:
The page cannot be found. The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.
At 11:52 am on November 3, the St. Lucie County, Florida election web site showed no returns, long after the polls closed: "Welcome To St. Lucie County Live Election Returns Election results will appear shortly."
Attempts to access Miami-Dade County's election web site during the morning of November 3 were similarly unsuccessful.
On the Florida Secretary of State web site there appeared some verbiage about a link to the Marion County election web site. But there was no link. Ditto for Nassau County, a county that saw widespread voter intimidation and suppression of African-American votes in 2000.
Indian River County, Florida election results were also of interest and indicated fraud:
Registered voters as of October 4, 2004, included
Republican: 41,866; Democratic: 24,515 ; Independent: 15,262.
Votes on Nov 2 were Bush: 36,744; Kerry: 23,850
Democrats had almost complete turnout if you match turnout to their registered voters.
Republicans were down some 4000, but what happened to the Independents' votes? There were less than 1% for the third party candidates. We were told Independents were breaking for Kerry. Even if 23, 850 for Kerry included a majority of the Independents and even a few moderate Republicans, the results from Indian River don't indicate that.
In pivotal New Mexico, by mid morning on November 3, the state election web site was missing several returns from areas with large Native American populations: Cibola and San Miguel Counties were missing in addition to 1 precinct in Dona Ana County with the following close returns listed:
Bush: 26 072 Kerry: 25,608
1 precinct in McKinley County with the following returns listed:
Bush 7132 Kerry: 12,725
1 precinct in Sandoval County with the following close returns listed:
Bush: 22,482 Kerry: 21,215
15 precincts in Socorro County with the following close returns listed:
Bush: 3197 Kerry: 2638
New Mexico was eventually declared for Bush in a close election, even though it went for Gore in 2000.
There were also missing returns from a very close race in Nevada.
Clark County (Las Vegas) had 271,465 people vote early and 220,501 vote at polls on election day.
Kerry received 279,575 votes to Bush's 253, 432 in Clark.
If, as we were told, early votes were breaking 60-70% for Kerry in areas he won, it looks like he should have had more like 300,000 votes in Clark County, which would have tipped the state to him.
Kerry lost Nevada "officially" by only 21,000 votes. This does not include the 50,705 absentee votes in Clark County (which also likely broke for Kerry). There were also 10,000 under votes and write-ins reported state-wide, which seems very high for a small population state like Nevada.
The turnout in Virginia was an all time high, especially in heavy Democratic counties and cities. Early on Election night, NBC said it could not call Virginia because the returns were close. Yet, an examination of the vote count as compared to 2000 reveals that the massive 2004 turnout, especially with African Americans, young people, and Hispanics was not reflected in the final vote counts and percentages.
I personally witnessed 2 hour plus waiting lines at polling places in Arlington and Fairfax Counties. This was unprecedented but it is not reflected in the vote count. This could be the result of both tampering with computer machines and voter suppression.
Arlington County
Kerry 63,705 Bush 29,545
67.57% 31.34%
Gore 50,260 Bush 28,555
60.15% 34.17%
(Only a 7 point jump for Democrats from 2000 to 2004. That does not reflect the huge countywide turnout).

Anything can happen in the next 4 years. When Nixon was elected for a second term I was in despair, as I am now. But....Watergate came along. This war in Iraq is going south fast as is the economy in the long run under the monkey who spends and cuts taxes. There will be a battle on the right on these very issues and there will be hell to pay for whoever won this election. Believe in serendipity, it rules the universe.
And fight on. I will. I think Bush in all his hubris in going down hard before the end of his term, and I intend to do everything I can to facilitate this.

The US military is stocked with grunts from the most right-wing, cerebrally-challenged, inbred, patriotic families, so Iraq is a useful cull of these people who, with their god-inspired huge families, are out-breeding savvy intellectuals and even the muslims!
Keep their numbers down! 20 years from now the remnants of them can make pilgrimages to the new Iraq to make friends and be forgiven by people they then realise are actually normal human beings. Just like Vietnam.
Job creation in the posthumous medals industry. Someone has to make 'em.
Bush has to deal with all the shit rather than handing it over to someone else to cope with.
Europe gets to become home to many more disillusioned Americans who just can't handle the shame any more. We benefit with some of the best American minds. Our universities should be rubbing their hands in anticipation.
Less people take the risk of flying anywhere and the aviation industry continues to decline, led by American airlines with whom no one in their right mind would risk a trip, so they'll end up with all the nutters with no care for their own survival along with the trigger happy US Air Marshals.
The US has to bring in the draft as numbers continue to be depleted, and stirs up the left to a fury not seen since Vietnam. The youth lead as ever, and battles with riot police become the norm in Main Street USA. The Yippies revive and the bright get to taunt the stupid in ritualistic displays of fury. The US becomes revolutionary again and the simplistic born again rhetoric of the rural christians is finally laughed into embarrassed silence. No more will anyone hear the ludicrous cries 'repent unto your lord and saviour' and 'momma's apple pie is blessed by Jesus' etc. They are finally consigned to the dustbin of human thought and a new era of rationalism dawns.
Shorn of these brain-cell-killing ideas, the next generation is measurably more intelligent and able to think. Realising their responsibility for a lot of the environmental problems of the world, the new government sets out on a green agenda, reduces greenhouse gases to a fraction of what they were, and proceeds to pay poor nations a proper price for their goods in exchange for them too reducing their pollution. CO2 starts to reduce.
>> the Fall of the Dinosaurs’ Last Stand, yo!
The last one is bollox of course, got carried away there. It won't happen. But what will happen is a continued increase in devastating weather events round the world and including the US where a state of emergency will be in operation in one or more states all year round. One day, even Nazcar racing will be banned because it wastes too much precious oil, as with Grand Prix [now in China] and all other recreational wasting of oil products as the wells dry up. Interesting times.

Dear Fraser
A very informative series called 'The Power of Nightmares' has recently been screened on BBC2. It is in my view every bit as important as Fahrenheit 9/11, and should be more widely shown, particularly in schools. I recommend those who missed it to lobby the BBC for a copy, and arrange screenings. If it had been shown in the US (some hope) maybe the result would have been different.
>> i second this. basically it shows how the whole thing is quite unreal, a nightmare created to keep people following old-stylee leaders.
Take some comfort from the fact that Mr Bush will have to clean up his own mess. I don't believe in the ballot-rigging argument, I just don’t think Mr Kerry fought an aggressive enough campaign. All he needed to say was that the President was clearing up the mess his dad left behind, the military runs the government, the economy is a black hole, america is eating the planet, and more Americans suffer from the terror of environmental attack than from Mr Bin Laden, who must be laughing his head off, if he is alive. Everybody who drives a gas-guzzler down the freeway is indirectly killing american youth in uniform just as surely as if they ran them down.
By the way, I don't remember hearing anything during this long and generally dull campaign from the large number of ethnic americans who have embraced Islam. The truth is that we’re facing a new crusade. I still suspect that financial institutions are terrified of the Idea of a nation of Islam, particularly one where charging of interest is judged immoral. In historical terms, Islam (Way of Peace) is due for a reform comparable to the Christian church. I suspect that the next century will see the appearance of a new religious movement, which abandons some of the superstitious medieval mindset that actually threatens the planet. We need a new way to get people to pray for, and work for, peace. As a community worker who doesn’t believe in God, I personally prefer to meet people who believe in something other than money, consumerism, and booze. The moral majority might actually be preferable to the amoral minority. The snackfood, soap TV and scratch-card culture will do for us all if we're not careful. There is a fine line between living and existing.
>> i personally agree. i believe a BIT in everything the fundies demand. and i spend my life critiquing the other lot :)
Get tough on Bush, but also tough on the causes of Bush. Charlton Heston won't give up his gun. Would you surrender your car to save the developing world? Will you take an asylum seeker into your home? Will you sell your TV and mobile phone to help feed the hungry? It’s so much easier to demonise individuals when we are comfortable in our own righteousness.
Bush is back. Get used to it. We need to stop worrying about what this one man does, which gives away our own power and human dignity. What are YOU going to do in the next 4 years to change the world? With this determination, we will free ourselves from priests, presidents and pollsters.
The new second superpower is global public opinion, but it's still disorganised. Its time to evolve a little more. Keep the dialogue going, but DONT PANIC. Joy, love and trust are powerful weapons. Who controls your world, if not you?
best wishes

As an afterthought, the best way to freak out Bush would be for young people to start growing beards and wearing headscarves. (I seem to remember that the Christian iconography was based on this!) Co-opting the symbols of terror would also help to defuse them. A million t-shirts with the words PEACE JIHAD would show where the real terror lies. Terror Lies. That just about sums it up.

Organised Chaos Gets Robots Going
A control system based on chaos has made a simulated, multi-legged robot walk successfully. In chaotic systems, small effects are amplified so rapidly that the systems' behaviour becomes impossible to predict more than a short time ahead. The robot was able to learn to walk and negotiate obstacles without any conventional programming.

Six Reasons Why Kerry Will Lose
REPEAT THE FOLLOWING FIVE TIMES:
Bush is unquestionably the most qualified person to crash this Empire down around our ears, and the Novelty Wave most certainly includes, key among its phenomenology, the crashing of this Empire, the most racist, imperialist, earth-destroying, indigenous-people-crushing, fascist, Disneyfied, bullshit promoting, petroleum-dependent, spiritually trashed, intellectually bankrupt, economically corrupt, stupidassedly hypocritical regime that ever walked the planet.
quantitatively speaking, of course; qualitatively, there have been worse.
so, PLEASE VOTE FOR BUSH and help CRASH THIS EMPIRE so we can, you know, fulfil some weird prophecy. perhaps one of the Mayan astronomer-priests smoking 5-meO DMT foretold all this already, in which case, i want some of that!

Osama’s Bleed-Until-Bankruptcy Plan
George Bush and the leadership of the Republican Party squandered the enormous goodwill built up after 9/11, and radically alienated something very close to half the nation.
But this isn't the same old red-blue dichotomy that animated the Bush-Gore contest. There is a new intensity here, one that cannot be explained solely in terms of cultural divisions over God, guns and gays, although that is part of it.
Republicans will wake up today to a world in which Osama bin Laden may be the last fiscally conservative Republican left standing. "As for the size of the economic deficit," scolded bin Laden in his latest communiqué to America, "it has reached record astronomical numbers estimated to total more than a trillion dollars, which is evidence of the success of our bleed-until-bankruptcy plan -- with Allah's permission."
The Republican Party has become the party not just of big government, but of global government. If, as seems likely, the President follows the neo-conservative agenda and takes his war of "liberation" beyond Iraq -- Syria and Iran seem to be the next targets -- the transformation of the Republican Party will be complete: it will become the Imperial Party, albeit not without dissent from traditional small government conservatives.
Bin Laden’s Spells It Out Again…
People of America, this talk of mine is for you and concerns the ideal way to prevent another Manhattan, and deals with the war and its causes and results.
Security is an indispensable pillar of human life and free men do not forfeit their security - contrary to Bush's claim that we hate freedom. Let him explain to us why we don't strike, for example, Sweden? And we know that freedom-haters don't possess defiant spirits - may Allah have mercy on them.
No, we fight because we are free men who don't sleep under oppression. We want to restore freedom to our nation. Just as you lay waste to our nation. So shall we lay waste to yours.
Only a dumb thief plays with the security of others and then makes himself believe he will be secure. Whereas thinking people, when disaster strikes, make it their priority to look for its causes, in order to prevent it happening again.
But I am amazed at you. Even though we are in the 4th year since September 11th, Bush is still engaged in distortion, deception and hiding from you the real causes. And thus, the reasons are still there for a repeat of what occurred.
So I shall talk to you about the story behind those events, and shall tell you truthfully about the moments in which the decision was taken.
I say to you, Allah knows that it never occurred to us to strike the towers. But after it became unbearable and we witnessed the oppression and tyranny of the American/Israeli coalition against our people in Palestine and Lebanon, it came to my mind.
The events that affected my soul in a direct way started in 1982 when America permitted the Israelis to invade Lebanon and the American Sixth Fleet helped them in that. Many were killed and injured and others were terrorised and displaced.
I couldn't forget those moving scenes, blood and severed limbs, women and children sprawled everywhere. Houses destroyed along with their occupants and high rises demolished over their residents, rockets raining down on our home without mercy.
The situation was like a crocodile meeting a helpless child, powerless except for his screams. And the whole world saw and heard but it didn't respond.
In those difficult moments many hard-to-describe ideas bubbled in my soul, but in the end they produced an intense feeling of rejection of tyranny, and gave birth to a strong resolve to punish the oppressors.
And as I looked at those demolished towers in Lebanon, it entered my mind that we should punish the oppressor in kind, and that we should destroy towers in America in order that they taste some of what we tasted, and so be deterred from killing our women and children.
And that day, it was confirmed to me that oppression and the intentional killing of innocent women and children is a deliberate American policy. Destruction is freedom and democracy, while resistance is terrorism and intolerance.
This means the oppressing and embargoing to death of millions as Bush Sr did in Iraq in the greatest mass slaughter of children mankind has ever known, and it means the throwing of millions of pounds of bombs and explosives at millions of children - also in Iraq - as Bush Jr did, in order to remove an old agent and replace him with a new puppet to assist in the pilfering of Iraq's oil and other outrages.
So, the events of September 11th came as a reply. With images like these as the background, should a man be blamed for defending his sanctuary? Is defending oneself and punishing the aggressor in kind, objectionable terrorism? If it is such, then it is unavoidable for us.
This is the message which I have sought to communicate to you in word and deed, repeatedly, for years before September 11th. You can read it in my interview with Scott in Time Magazine in 1996, or with Peter Arnett on CNN in 1997, or my meeting with John Weiner in 1998. You can observe it, practically, in Kenya, Tanzania and Aden. And you can read it in my interview with Abdul Bari Atwan, as well as my interviews with Robert Fisk, the latter being one of your compatriots and co-religionists whom I consider to be neutral.
So are the pretenders of freedom at the White House, and the channels controlled by them, able to run an interview with him? So that he may tell the American people the reasons for our fight against you which he has understood?
As for the war’s results, they have been, by the grace of Allah, positive and enormous, and have, by all standards, exceeded all expectations. This is due to many factors, chief among them that the resemblance of the Bush administration to the regimes in our countries (half ruled by the military, the other half by the sons of kings and presidents) has made it difficult for us to deal with. Our experience with them is lengthy, both being replete with those who are characterised by pride, arrogance, greed and misappropriation of wealth.
This resemblance began after the visits of Bush Sr to the region. At a time when some of our compatriots were dazzled by America, and hoping that his visits would have an effect on our countries, he was suddenly affected by those monarchies and military regimes, and he became envious of their remaining decades in positions to embezzle the public wealth of the nation without supervision or accounting.
So he took dictatorship and suppression of freedoms to his son and they named it the Patriot Act, under the pretence of fighting terrorism. In addition, Bush sanctioned the installing of sons as state governors, and didn't forget to import expertise in election fraud from the region's presidents to Florida to be made use of in moments of difficulty.
All of the above has made it easy to provoke and bait this administration. All we have to do is send two mujahidin to the furthest point east to raise a piece of cloth on which is written al-Qaida and make the generals race there to cause America to suffer human, economic, and political losses without their achieving anything of note other than some benefits for their private companies.
This is in addition to our experience in guerrilla warfare and wars of attrition to fight tyrannical superpowers, just as we and he mujahidin bled Russia for 10 years into bankruptcy and a forced withdrawal. All Praise to Allah.
We are continuing this policy in bleeding America to the point of bankruptcy. Allah willing, and nothing is too great for Allah.
That being said, those who say al-Qaida has won the war against the White House are not being precise you cannot say that al-Qaida is the sole factor in achieving those spectacular gains.
Rather, the White House policy that demands the opening of war fronts to keep their various corporations busy - in the field of arms, oil or reconstruction - has helped al-Qaida achieve these enormous results.
And so it has appeared to some analysts and diplomats that we and the White House are playing as one team towards the economic goals of the United States, even if the intentions differ. It was to these sorts of notions that the British diplomats referred in their lectures at the Royal Institute of International Affairs, when, for example, they pointed out that while al-Qaida spent $500,000 on the event, America lost - according to the lowest estimate - more than $500 billion.
With the help of Allah, every al-Qaida dollar defeated a million US dollars, to say nothing of the huge loss of jobs. The US economic deficit has reached astronomical levels estimated to total more than one trillion dollars.
And even more dangerously bitter for America is that the mujahidin recently forced Bush to resort to emergency funds to continue the fight in Afghanistan and Iraq - evidence of the success of the bleed-until-bankruptcy plan - with Allah's permission.
But, while it is true that al-Qaida has gained, the Bush administration has also gained, which anyone who looks at the size of the contracts acquired by the shady Bush administration-linked mega-corporations, like Halliburton and its kind, can easily see. And it all shows that the real loser is ... you. The American people and their economy.
For the record, we had agreed with Commander-General Muhammad Ataa that all the 9/11 operations should be carried out within 20 minutes, before Bush and his administration had time to react. It never occurred to us that the American commander-in-chief would abandon 50,000 of his citizens in the twin towers to face those great horrors alone at a time when they most needed him.
But because he seemed to consider that talking to the little girl about the goat and its butting was more important than the planes and their butting of the skyscrapers, we were given three times the period required to execute the operations - all praise is due to Allah.
Not is it any secret to you that the thinkers and perceptive ones among the Americans warned Bush before the war: "All you want for securing America and removing the weapons of mass destruction - assuming they exist - is available to you, and the nations of the world are with you in the inspections, and it is in the interest of America that it not be thrust into an unjustified war with an unknown outcome."
But the darkness of the black gold blurred his vision and insight, and he gave priority to private interests over the public interests of America.
So the war went ahead, the death toll rose, the American economy bled, and Bush became embroiled in the swamps of Iraq that threaten his future. He fits the saying "like the naughty she-goat who used her hoof to dig up a knife from under the earth".
So I say to you, over 15,000 of our people have been killed and tens of thousands injured. More than a thousand of you have been killed and more than 10,000 injured. Bush's hands are stained with the blood of all those killed from both sides, all for the sake of oil and keeping their private companies in business.
And the same goes for your allies in Palestine. They terrorise the women and children, they kill and capture the men as they lie sleeping with their families on the mattresses. For every action, there is a reaction.
Finally, it behoves you to reflect on the last wills and testaments of the thousands who left you on the 11th as they gestured in despair. They are important testaments, which should be studied and researched.
Among the most important of what I read in them was some prose in their gestures before the collapse, where they say: "How mistaken we were to have allowed the White House to implement its aggressive foreign policies against the weak without supervision."
It is as if they were telling you, the people of America: "Hold to account those who have caused us to be killed, and happy is he who learns from others' mistakes."
And among that which I read in their gestures is a verse. "Injustice chases its people, and how unhealthy the bed of tyranny."
As has been said: "An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure."
And know that: "It is better to return to the truth than persist in error." And that the wise man doesn't squander his security, wealth and children for the sake of the liar in the White House.
In conclusion, I tell you in truth that your security is not in the hands of Kerry, nor Bush, nor al-Qaida. Your security is in your own hands. And any state that doesn't play with our security has automatically guaranteed its own security.
And Allah is our Guardian and Helper, while you have no Guardian or Helper. All peace be upon he who follows the Guidance.
