when i stopped putting on public ‘edutainments’ a year or more ago, i started taking little trips abroad to keep sane and healthy.
at first i went alone, tho i tried to persuade a couple of frens to come along, but you know how frens can b!
then, last september a buddy came with me, to
spain.
and next time, SEVEN people were there, in
malta last spring,.
and that’s when i realised i’d started a new kinda clubbing, travel clubbing, which i've called the
Caravanserai Club.
we go away twice a year, during off-peak. i announce a great city in a foreign country that's not too expensive to get to, and everybody comes who wants.

so.... it's Split this year, in Croatia, for the whole month of October!  (u can come for any part of that, of course)

“Roman ruins, spectacular beaches, old fishing ports, medieval and Renaissance architecture and unspoiled islands make Central Dalmatia the ideal region to combine hedonism with historical discovery”  That’s what the guide book says!

our scout has checked it out and reports that Split is a lovely, exuberant, ancient Roman city and a part of Old Europe too.  they LOVE visitors. with one thousand islands just off the coast, little painted ferries chug in and out of port every day. and the locals grow and smoke so much g---s that they call the town Spliff i kid u not! someone even told me that, when they were showing the war on tv, you could see, in most windows of the undestroyed flats of the bombed apartment buildings, a grass plant growing! did YOU notice that?!

anyway,
U MUST COME! U R INVITED!  everybody makes their own way there separately and under their own steam, and mixes just as much or as little as they like!

i reckon there could be 20-30-40 people coming this time. and next time it will be previewed in the newspapers as
fraser's new kinda club” and there’ll be hundreds. imagine it!!! during my decades on the road, it was my dream to arrive in a new place and find all my friends there too, all for the first time! wotta fuggin trip, eh?!
and, once there are hundreds coming, some DJ is bound to convince a local venue to let us take it over, and i’ll go… sometimes.  everybody does exactly what they want when they want with whom they want in the club caravanserai!

The population of Split is 175000, and it’s set under high coastal mountains against the azure blue of the Adriatic.  In the heart of the city is Emperor Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site which he built as a retiring home.  It’s one of the most imposing Roman ruins in existence, with marble imported from Italy and Greece, and columns and sphinxes from Egypt.  It’s 300 yards long and 200 yards wide, walled, marble-paved, and packed with little café-bars and shops.

And I still haven’t even told you about the thousand islands!  including even a hippy one where Tito’s hide-out cave was located (u can visit it).  we reckon it’s become the hippy island because the high security that must have hung around the island saved it from, ah, capitalistic ‘development’ :)

GETTING THERE: there’s a daily flight from london stansted to Trieste in Northern Italy for £30 return (Ryan Air, yo!), and a 10 hour bus ride from there to Split for £30 return. TOTAL: £60! couldn't gettit cheaper than that, eh? you can also fly via Vienna and Ancona for the same price AND you can catch ferries from there to Split.  Check out the options for yourself!

WHERE TO STAY: Old ladies will accost you as you get off the bus or train, offering “sobe” rooms in their houses: £12 double room per night.  The islands are much cheaper at around £6 per night.

CARAVANSERAI RENDEZVOUS POINT:  The Gaetto Club a secluded café tucked into a tranquil courtyard on Dosud (street) in the walled Palace area.  With overstuffed chairs, flower beds, and a trickling fountain, it’s run by a social work club which sometimes stages alternative music.  (346 879).
I’ll be there personally each day, sipping one of their exotic coffees, between noon and 1pm.  If we’re off to one of the islands for a few days, information & messages will be left at the bar.

The Rise of Global Resistance To the Empire
Omar Barghouthi,
Counter Punch

The tens of millions of war-protesters who blossomed on the world's Main Streets like belated spring flowers, days before the war on Iraq, did not look alike, speak the same language, belong to the same culture or religion, read the same papers, watch the same TV news or hold the same political thought.  But, they were all motivated by a far grander and more noble cause than mere opposition to yet another war on a battered nation of the South: they shared the ideal of resisting empire.
>> and they shared a lot more than that, they look to the future (of a small harmonised friendly planet) not the past (of Dog Eat Dog Dinosaurism) that has brought us to the present Climax.

Perhaps the fervour and intensity of protest have relatively waned since the images of the "sweeping victory" over Iraq, carried by not-so-free western media, inundated us.  But after the US war crimes in Falluja,
>> and the fist whiff for many that the Evil Empire is not unstoppable after all :)

the racist torture orgy at Abu Ghraib and the increasing Black Hole that is Iraq, the motivation for resisting empire is on the rise again, globally.

This essay explores the formative stage of this resistance: the critical period before and right after the start of the war on Iraq, arguing that such a resistance is not just ethically laudable, but also practically winnable.

Empire
We are witnessing the ominous rise of the most powerful empire ever to exist.  Judging from consistent media reports and opinion polls, the rest of the world seems to view it as a menacing rogue state that is arrogantly bullying other nations, east and west, north and south, into unqualified submission to its self-declared designs for world domination and incontestable economic supremacy.
>> rather, this is the logical conclusion of the Priestly/Roman/Christian mogopoly tendency running out of space and time.

Perceiving the United States under Bush as a "fearful giant throwing its weight around," George Soros summarises in the Financial Times [March 12, 2003] what has become common knowledge nowadays: "The [Bush] doctrine is built on two pillars: first, the US will do everything in its power to maintain unquestioned military supremacy; second, it arrogates the right to pre-emptive action."  The U.S., according to this argument, maintains two classes of sovereignty: "American sovereignty, which takes precedence over international treaties; and the sovereignty of all other states."
>> while setting its own quislings in charge of every “democracy” it “helps” to set up.  think: Empire.

That much is old news.  It is lavishly published in respectable editorials, books and throughout the internet.  What's new is that there is opportunity in the midst of the bleakest of disasters, as capitalist entrepreneurs have always held, albeit a different type of opportunity than the profit-obsessed one they've often eyed.  With the United States' shocking and awful projection of the closest human approximation to absolute power to date, an equal but opposite global force of deep resentment, revulsion, dissidence and resistance is fast developing.
>> it’s the other way round.  the Dinos’ Last Stand is a Reaction to the slow humanising of the planet that had been going on since the Renaissance and unstoppably since Reagan and Thatcher got chucked on the Fossil Record.  it’s the Dinos who are now the Resistance, to the inevitable.  it’s they who are resentful and dissident but their resistance is acceleratingly on the wane.

And for the first time in decades, there is no simple dichotomy to conveniently divide the world into.

The non-Battle of Fallujah
If the fall of the Berlin Wall signalled the decisive beginning of the end of the East-West opposition, the illegal, immoral and criminal war on Iraq, waged by the new Rome of our time, might well announce the baptism of a new world community opposed to empire, any empire, and based on the precepts of evolving international law, human rights and the common principles of universal morality that are emerging.
>> had been emerging and growing for years before bush burst upon the scene.  and the decisive beginning of the end of opposition to it was, of course,.

Almost everyone with conscience fears and resents the megalomaniac cult sitting on the throne in Washington.  It’s the product of a strategic alliance between the omnipotent military-industrial complex (with a lion's share for the oil industry), the fundamentalist-Christian and the Zionist ideologies.  It’s a cult that’s amassed colossal financial, political and media power, enough to rekindle its deep-rooted disposition and ambition to become the master of the universe.  A century and a half after officially abolishing slavery in the U.S., the new-old masters have a diabolic agenda to resurrect it, except this time on a worldwide scale.
>> this goes too far.  it’s the Final Throw of a competitive culture whose time has passed.  they’re no worse than all who went before, which is pretty bad.

Being able to detect this phenomenon, a great majority of nations, including an impressively increasing number of conscientious and mentally-liberated Americans, wish to see this cult of "neo-conservatives" and its agenda humbled, at the very least, if not altogether defeated.
>> reduced to a mere pressure grouping within the culture.  just as, i believe, the next brit government will be a pact between Labour and the Lib Dems, with the Tories never constituting the governing party again, and the battleground shifted to one between a conservative Labour Party and an Experimental Human Lib Dem Party.

Far from apologising for this raw proclivity to dominate, with all the global lawlessness bound to result from it, Robert Kagan, a leading neo-conservative ideologue, justifies it as the prerogative of the mightiest: "The United States remains mired in history, exercising power in the anarchic Hobbesian world where international laws and rules are unreliable and where true security and the defence and promotion of a liberal order still depend on the possession and use of military might."
>> note the obsession with the past!

Astronomers But Not UP! Readers Astonished As Galaxy Find Provokes Rethink Of Big Bang FEEDBACK

Big bang not so big!
Hy Fraser,
Brilliant piece on Arps theories.  The discovery of the red shift desert,  is throwing big bang theorists  into disarray.   Now the hunt is on for another explanation of the red shift phenomena which has nothing to do with bangs.
I have such a theory which I hope UP buffs will enjoy considering.  In front of me I have the album sleeve from the Pink Floyd's dark side of the moon album. Readers may remember that it shows a light beam shining through  a  glass prism and that the light is split into the  colours of the rainbow with ultra violet an one extreme side and infra red on the other. This shows that violet light bends through glass most,  and RED BENDS THE LEAST. we know from observations that also gravity bends light. Is it possible that gravity also splits light into its constituent colours in the same was as glass and water do [as in  a rainbow]?  If it does then the 'red shift' is not a red shift at all, but is  an effect caused by gravity  diffusing  light colours, according to their position in the spectrum.   We know from  calculations and observations that 90% of the matter [ by weight]  in the known universe is unaccounted for. It seems likely that space is littered with bodies which are either too small to see, but still very heavy, or have no light source and so are invisible to us.  Nevertheless they still have gravitational fields which are capable of bending light and splitting it into its constituents.  In this way the light  constituents closer to ultra violet would become diffused, and the red travels straighter path.  The red shift deserts could then be explained by the fact that there is less debris between us and that part of the universe in which the red shift desert is found. We  still have black holes, red dwarfs, supernovas etc, and what do we do have is an infinitely ancient universe. which is absorbing light in the spectrum furthest from red. Any physicist out  there  like to comment on this?  If this does turn out to be the case then remember that you read it here first.
Steve Barker. UK
>> will publish this, steve, thus establishing your ownership of the breakthrough if such it be :)
however arp (as i remember him) believes that if big bang goes so do red dwarf and all the rest of the gang because they were all invented to explain the incongruities in the original theory.

Science Heading for a BIG BANG Itself
Forget the glossy astronomy books and magazines - the Big Bang is pure fiction.  The discoveries that prove it will also bring about the end of science-as-we-know-it.  Many books and articles have been published recently heralding the end of science - meaning there is little left to learn.  The truth is the opposite.  Much of what we think we know "ain't so".  As always, unlearning it will give us more trouble than learning something new.
The belief of scientists in their cleverly concocted creation story, the Big Bang, has become so entrenched and over-hyped that it is difficult to imagine an effective face-saving strategy when the news leaks out that it is nonsense.  And let there be no doubt about it, the hard science to prove the case against the Big Bang has been done by an astronomer who is uniquely well placed for the task.

His name is
Halton Arp, known for his classic work in "Arp's Atlas of Peculiar Galaxies".  When he began to announce findings nearly 30 years ago that contradicted orthodox cosmology he was refused telescope time and publication in the standard journals.  In frustration he published two books, the first in 1987 titled "Quasars, Redshifts and Controversies", and more recently "Seeing Red".

"
Redshift" is the term used to describe the shift in frequency of spectral lines toward the red end of the spectrum.  It's known to occur when an object is speeding away from us.  Edwin Hubble discovered that the luminosity of a galaxy is related to its redshift: the fainter the galaxy, the higher the redshift.  He suggested one interpretation of this data, that the greater the redshift (and therefore, the velocity), the farther away the galaxy.  Thus was born the Expanding Universe

But he was careful not to assume that this was the only possible interpretation of the
redshift data.  Others since have thrown scientific caution to the winds and used Hubble's hypothesis as a rubbery yardstick with which to measure the size and age of the universe.  Arp avoided this unscientific approach and made discoveries that are unequalled in the history of astronomy.

Many peculiar galaxies turn out to be what are known as
active galaxies.  They are often seen to have thin jets of matter firing from their cores, and bridges of matter or radio lobes connecting them with nearby objects.  Arp noticed that quasars are clustered in the sky with active galaxies far too often to be a coincidence.

Quasars are faint starlike objects whose spectra are highly redshifted.  The Big Bang view is that their redshifts are due to the expansion of the universe and the doppler effect as the quasars race away from us at a good fraction of light speed.  A high redshift equates in that model to great distance so they should have no association with much closer galaxies.  Yet Arp showed that some quasars are connected by bridges or jets of matter to active galaxies.  Since the advent of orbiting x-ray telescopes these bridges are becoming abundantly clear.

But now we come to the results of Arp's work that
will shake the foundations of modern physics.  He found that quasars lined up on either side of active galaxies as if they are spat out at regular intervals from the galactic cores, above and below the plane of the galaxy.  He then found that the redshifts of these quasars fall back toward normal levels and increase in brightness the further they are from the parent galaxy.  In other words, the redshift is a measure of the age of the quasar.  Also, the quasars slow down as if they are increasing in mass.

Even more shocking was Arp's discovery that
quasar redshifts are quantised!  IF SCIENCE WORKED AS ADVERTISED, THIS SHOULD BE BANNER HEADLINE NEWS!  This raises the spectre that our highly prized physics is way off the beam; that we do not understand such fundamental concepts as mass and gravity, nor the real meaning of quantum theory.  So our university libraries and bookshops are crammed with science fiction.  Nothing short of the biggest conceptual revolution in history will redress the situation.  But universities are not in the business of fostering revolutions and the media seems incapable of exposing their nonsense.  Based on his experiences Arp wrote, "Investigative journalism so far as science is concerned is dead in the water."  He believes that with such a broken-down way of doing and reporting science, breakthroughs must come from individuals outside academia.

It is happening.  The signs of revolution have been around for decades.  But with their backs turned to us and absorbed in their computer screens, those who have derailed science are oblivious to the "
Big Bang" that is about to occur.  As David Stove, the noted Australian philosopher, wrote in Anything Goes: "Everyone dislikes a sudden loud noise, but it is worse still if you are half asleep at the time."  We can expect a bad-tempered reaction when it occurs.

The famous mathematician Johann von Neumann seemed to intuit the problem at the heart of the mathematical physics approach when he wrote: "
In mathematics you don't understand things. You just get used to them."  Meanwhile a growing number of independent thinkers have noted that physics lost any remaining connection with reality with the advent of relativity theories and quantum mechanics

Paradoxically, the way forward is to return to
classical physics which is based on immutable standards and causality.  The equations of modern science are merely descriptive and not causal explanations.  The same equations may apply to many different causes.  Relativity introduces "rubbery" rather than immutable standards.  Mass, length and time change with velocities and observers.  As the philosopher Michael Miller puts it: "If a measuring standard varies who-knows-how, then the quantities measured by means of it vary who-knows-how, and the equations connecting those quantities mean who-knows-what. This is precisely the bog in which relativists have mired themselves; their doctrine of curved space is symptomatic.... Generations of science students have tried to make sense of curved space, and succeeded only in warping their minds."

As with past
revolutions, the seeds are already sown.  A good scientist would be alert, without prejudice, to wider future possibilities.  Unfortunately, academia teaches and encourages prejudice and a narrow focus.  Arp goes so far as to compare the dogmatism of astronomy unfavourably to that of the medieval church.  It is the mission of HOLOSCIENCE to look at the BIG PICTURE and find the promising ideas that could form the new science of this new millennium.  Arp's observational work on intrinsic redshift is already a cornerstone for a new cosmology.  It depicts a smaller, stable cosmos as part of an infinite, eternal universe.  It has almost biological overtones when it traces families of galaxies with quasars being the galactic children in various stages of adolescence.

There are two key elements required to explain the dynamics of
quasar formation and quantization of redshift.  An article featured in the March-April issue of American Scientist drops the first shoe.  It demonstrates (again) that plasma physics holds the key to understanding stars and galaxies and the inexplicable (in gravitational terms) ejection of vast gobs of matter at colossal speeds.

Experiment shows that a powerful electric current in a magnetic field can create a solar coronal mass ejection event (CME).  And since magnetic fields are caused by electric currents, the prime mover is electric discharge phenomena in a
plasma.  From personal experience, electric discharges in plasmas are not a part of the curriculum for astrophysicists.  Cosmology should be the realm of plasma physicists and electrical engineers.

Plasma constitutes 99.999% of the matter in the universe.  It is staggering to realise that
Big Bang cosmology is restricted largely to the physics of 0.001% of the universe - solids, liquids and gases on the surface of this planet!  And much of the accepted physics of stars is untestable by experiment.

Another recent example: British astronomers have discovered a "magnetic bubble" around one of Arp's favourite galaxies, M82.  Notice that astrophysicists always deal with effects (winds, magnetism) and not causes (electric currents).  The diagram of M82 is almost identical to that of the plasma physicist, Eric Lerner, in his book "The Big Bang Never Happened", published in 1992.

In that book, a simple, highly compact and efficient ejection engine is described - the plasma focus.  It can explain simply the episodic ejection of quasars from the centres of active galaxies.  In an Electric Universe infinitely heavy objects are not needed to offset the infinitely weak force of gravity when explaining high-energy outbursts.
Black holes and neutron stars simply do not exist.  The electrical nature of matter prevents the formation of super-massive objects.

The second shoe is dropped heavily by the physicist Ralph Sansbury who has been using his own resources to experiment with laser light and show that there are near-instantaneous electric forces that can account for
light, magnetism and gravity.  In other words, the electric force is fundamental and all others are derived from it - even the nuclear force.  The quantum nature of matter interactions are then seen in a classical sense to be due to electrostatic resonances operating at near-infinite speed between sub-particles that constitute electrons, protons and neutrons.  Causality is reinstated in physics.  IF SCIENCE WORKED AS ADVERTISED, THIS SHOULD BE BANNER HEADLINE NEWS!  (And Ralph wouldn't be working alone in his basement).  In the view of HOLOSCIENCE, this is the only model that can sensibly explain Arp's galaxy-wide quantum jumps in redshift.

The argument goes like this: a
quasar is ejected from a galactic nucleus by the plasma focus effect as an electron-deficient plasmoid (electrons are trapped in the focus longer than the much heavier protons).  Now, the phenomenon of mass is due to the energy conserving elastic response of charged particles to external electric forces.  If gravity is an electric force, inertial and gravitational mass will always be identical.  So, because the electric polarisation of stars in the quasar is low at first, the mass of protons and neutrons will be lower than in the parent galaxy.

Consequently electron orbits within quasar atoms will have lower energy - light from them will be
redshifted.  Luminosity will also be lower due to the lack of charge-carrying electrons.  Electrons streaming after the quasar create an x-ray jet and vast radio-lobes.  Such electron jets are seen clearly in images from the orbiting Chandra X-Ray telescope.

From a NASA news report issued on April 19:
"
The distance record for a quasar has been broken yet again. At the present time, no other object in the universe has been found to be more distant than the above speck. The recently discovered quasar has been clocked at redshift 5.82. The exact relation between redshift and distance remains presently unknown, although surely higher redshifts do mean greater distance. The above quasar is likely billions of light-years away and so is seen when the universe was younger than one billion years old, less than a tenth of its present age. Like all quasars, this object is probably a large black hole in the centre of a distant galaxy."  Blah, blah....

Has NASA suddenly become uncharacteristically coy about the meaning of the
redshift?  The use of the word "surely" implies a question mark.

It is usual in academia to ignore and ostracize a dissenter in the hope he will give up.  But Arp is not a quitter, he is a big hitter.  If ostracism fails then scientists rewrite history as if they really knew it all along.  The first step in that process is to equivocate in scientific reports to allow a new interpretation to be introduced retrospectively.  Watch carefully!

Blair admits he’s a liar (almost)
DID YOU READ THIS ANYWHERE ELSE YET? WHY NOT?!
PM admits graves claim untrue
Peter Beaumont
, foreign affairs editor, The Observer

Downing Street has admitted that repeated claims by Tony Blair that '400,000 bodies had been found in Iraqi mass graves' is untrue, and only about 5,000 corpses have so far been uncovered

The claims by Blair in November and December of last year were given widespread credence, were quoted by MPs and widely published, including in the introduction to a US government pamphlet on Iraq's mass graves.
>> you tell some lies that we can safely quote and we’ll tell some lies you can safely quote, gottit?.

In that publication - Iraq's Legacy of Terror: Mass Graves produced by USAID, the US government aid distribution agency, Blair is quoted from Nov 20 last year: 'We've already discovered, just so far, the remains of 400,000 people in mass graves.'

On 14 December Blair repeated the claim in a statement issued by Downing Street in response to the arrest of Saddam Hussein and posted on the Labour party website that:
'The remains of 400,000 human beings [have] already [been] found in mass graves.'

Downing Street's admission comes amid growing questions over precisely how many perished under Saddam's 3 decades of terror, and the location of the bodies of the dead.  Obviously the Baathist regime was responsible for massive human rights abuses and murder on a large scale, but serious questions are now emerging about the scale of Saddam Hussein's murders.

At the heart of the question are the numbers so far identified in Iraq's graves.
Of 270 suspected grave sites identified in the last year, 55 have now been examined, revealing, according to the best estimates that The Observer has been able to obtain, around 5,000 bodies.

While some sites have contained hundreds of bodies, others have contained no more than a dozen.

And the exact scale of those crimes has become increasingly politicised in both Washington and London as it has become clearer that the case against Iraq for retention of weapons of mass destruction has faded.

A Downing Street spokesman said:
'While experts may disagree on the exact figures, human rights groups, governments and politicians across the world have no doubt that Saddam killed hundreds of thousands of his own people and their remains are buried in sites throughout Iraq.'

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi// FEEDBACK on feedback
Love and fuckin peace you little squit, you have no right to the term, you exhibit no love!”

So Taansin is pissed off with me. Oh deary, I shall have to revise my thought processes, suspend disbelief and nurture credulity from now on. I expect Taansin was actually a Mike or Percy or Nigel before he became enlightened and adopted a more exotic name. He certainly got his paddy up tho hey?

>> I can tell you for an absolute fact that Don and Pete are gravely mistaken.
Oh how's that, people who deal in “absolute facts” are usually con artists, not even highly-trained and experienced scientists claim 'absolute facts'.  Something dear Taansin seems unaware of.

>> By speaking as such they have identified themselves as being demonically diseased Demons now is it? Well, I guess someone with his head full of guru shit would see anyone with a brain who sees through his kind all too easily a bit of a demon; but, as far as I know, I have no disease, demonic or otherwise. and as for being stuck in a very low astral plane of ego and delusion and being 'sick' I can tell Taansin [I'm already getting to hate the sound of that silly name which probably means plonker in Sanskrit, I'll refer to him/her/it as Nigel I think] that I left my ego along the road to rationalism and my bullshit detector is doin' fine. ... lower echelons of your readership ... ooow, we're getting really bitchy now, Nige!

>> Eventually such psychopaths will drop away from your list
now I'm not just a demonically diseased creep, I'm also a psychopath! This person is clearly not accustomed to criticism or engaging in argument in a rational manner. Can't take it huh?
>> no, they’ll be gradually won over :) in your dreams Fraser - I am your nemesis ‘long as i don’t push it down their throats every time  if you did I might barf it right back at you hey? LOL

>>and will be replaced by higher more exalted planes of readers
like Nigel presumably?

>>
who will refer your newsletter to the cream of humanity.
Nigel again, boy, and he/she/it calls me ego ridden! I bet the UP! is honoured that it is read by such an exalted being

>> I personally would promote your letter more if it contained more from the true Enlightened Beings...
who to, god hisself?  To my mind it already contains quite enough of the comicbook side thanks, what with David [Lizards] Icke.
Satya Sai Baba who featured in a recent BBC documentary, what a con artist, what a paedophile! ... sit in his armchair you can feel his disease. I saw the interview with a young English guy who’d been abused by him and who was still clearly traumatised by it - his parents had become 'disciples' and had no doubts at all about the 'private' sessions he had with their son and lots of other young boys. You could see the fear and loathing on the faces of the children just being near him. And he's protected by the police.  So don't tell me about poison Nige, people like him are the friggin poison and clueless little sycophants like you are the willing 'disciples' of these manipulative psychopaths.  Enough genuine objections yet?

Maharishi probably isn't as bad, but he certainly does like to consort with rich pop and film stars, and be driven around in limos while his followers accept vows of poverty to lead them to enlightenment. It's the oldest trick in the book, been going on for ages and I've watched it and the people who get drawn into it with bemused indifference.

I knew a bunch of people once who had been sanyasins, the orange people, forget which particular conman [sorry, guru] they followed, but you can see how it spread, they all knew each other and it was a bit like all going to the same nightclub. Then they all grew a bit older and wiser and stopped wearing orange and started getting their real lives together, still saddled with their adopted Indian names which sounded rather silly then. Most soon dropped them, but one or two stuck, like Deepak ... but they probably weren't transcendental like our novice.

>> You will notice that none of them can produce a genuine objection. Just like the ridiculous personal attacks on Michael Moore
got nothing to do with Michael Moore, a genuine folk hero, brave man and brilliant polemicist, don't muddy the waters grasshopper!

>> none of which truly refute the facts, on a higher dimension the Saints, Masters, and Avatars are also objects of personal attacks that are completely ludicrous, baseless, false, meaningless, and lacking in fact or substance.  They pay no attention to them, so neither should you.
Well if you’re such a true believer then neither should you surely?

>> If you support hippie culture,
is this person as old as us Fraser? If not, what the fuck does he think he knows about hippy culture

>> it is unbelievable that you would stay stuck on the endless lower levels of political intrigue and not rise into the true source, essence, and origin of the hippie consciousness provided by the radiance of the Enlightened.
no, provided by drugs actually, Tamsin, but you gotta know how to use 'em and you gotta keep a clear head or you start imagining that the hallucinations are real.
>> the higher you rise the deeper your roots need to reach.
OR:
u cant understand the world without innerstanding yourself u cant innerstand yourself without understanding the world. just dismissing the world as a bag of piss is NOT understanding it.
The world is not a bag of piss, it's a beautiful planet, fast being trashed by the plague of skin-encapsulated egos called homo sapiens, or most of them anyway. Banging a gong and chanting a few foreign language phases in a monotone does not make you an enlightened one. Thinking logically and rationally about every subject and believing nothing until you have examined all the proof, and expanding your mind over decades just might if you have it in you. The rest is just like junk, it numbs the thinking/feeling centres of the brain so you DON'T HAVE TO THINK. Got it Tamsin?

>> Love and Peace,
Love and fuckin peace you little squit, you have no right to the term, you exhibit no love and if you carry on writing silly things like that you'll have precious little peace.

Israel has no right to exist
PEACE MIGHT HAVE A CHANCE WITHOUT ISRAELIS' BIBLICAL CLAIMS
Faisal Bodi,
The Guardian

Several years ago, Faisal Bodi suggested in his students' union newspaper that Israel shouldn't exist, and that the sympathy evoked by the Holocaust was a very handy cover for Israeli atrocities.  Overnight he was denounced as a Muslim fundamentalist and a Jew-hater.  He was followed, photographed, and his family even received telephone death threats.
Recently, though his views have not changed, he gave an inter-faith lecture sponsored by the Leo Baeck College.

I know it's a hugely unfashionable thing to say that Israel has no right to exist and it’s one which, given the current parlous state of the peace process, some will also find irresponsible.  But it's a fact that I have always considered central to any genuine peace formula.

Certainly there is
no moral case for the existence of Israel.  Israel stands as the realisation of a biblical statement.  Its raison d'être was famously delineated by former prime minister Golda Meir. "This country exists as the accomplishment of a promise made by God Himself.  It would be absurd to call its legitimacy into account."
>> Come again!

That biblical promise is Israel's only claim to legitimacy.

It does no good to anyone to brush this fact, uncomfortable as it might be, under the table.  But that has been the failing with
Oslo.  When it signed the agreement, the PLO made the cardinal error of assuming that you could bury the hatchet by rewriting history.  It accepted as a starting point that Israel had a right to exist.

The trouble with this was that it also meant, by extension,
an acceptance that the way Israel came into being was legitimate.  As the latest troubles have shown, ordinary Palestinians are not prepared to follow their leaders in this feat of intellectual amnesia.

Israel's other potential claim to legitimacy,
international recognition, is just as dubious.  The two pacts which sealed Palestine's future were both concluded by Britain.  First it signed the Sykes-Picot agreement with France, pledging to divvy up Ottoman spoils in the Levant.  A year later, in 1917, the Balfour Declaration promised a national home for the Jewish people.  Under international law, however, the declaration was null and void because PALESTINE DID NOT BELONG TO BRITAIN - under the pact of the League of Nations it belonged to Turkey.

By the time the UN accepted a resolution on the partition of Palestine in
1947, Jews constituted 32% of the population and owned 5.6% of the land.  By 1949, largely as a result of paramilitary organisations such as the Haganah, Irgun and Stern gang, Israel controlled 80% of Palestine and 770,000 non-Jews had been expelled from their own country.

This is the potted history of the iniquities surrounding its own birth that Israel
must acknowledge in order for peace to have a chance.   After 50 years of war, peace comes from forgiving, not forgetting; people never forget but they have an extraordinary capacity to forgive.  Just look at South Africa, which showed the world that a cathartic truth must precede reconciliation.

Far from being a force for liberation and safety after decades of suffering, the idea that Israel is some kind of religious birthright has only imprisoned Jews in a never-ending cycle of conflict.  The "
promise" breeds an arrogance which institutionalises the inferiority of other peoples and generates atrocities against them with alarming regularity.  It allows soldiers to defy their consciences and blast unarmed schoolchildren.  It gives rise to legislation seeking to prevent the acquisition of territory by non-Jews.

More crucially, the promise limits Israel's capacity to seek models of coexistence based on equality and the respect of human rights.  A state based on so exclusivist a claim to legitimacy cannot but conceive of separation as a solution.  But separation is not the same as lasting peace; it only pulls apart warring parties.
It does not heal old wounds, let alone redress historical wrongs.

However, take away the biblical right and suddenly mutual coexistence, even a one-state solution, doesn't seem that far-fetched.  What name that coexistence will take is less important than the fact that peoples have forgiven and that some measure of justice has been restored.  Jews will continue to live in the Holy Land - as per the promise - as equals alongside its other rightful inhabitants.

If that kind of self-reproach is forthcoming, Israel can expect the Palestinians to be forgiving and magnanimous in return.  The alternative is perpetual war.

Hi Fraser,
I'd like to make a suggestion.  The material you send out is great, but the presentation doesn't do it justice.  All those colours look so amateurish.  I deleted the first 10 emails I received because I thought it was junkmail - it looks like cheap advertisements or something a kindergarten kid has done.  Please do yourself a favour and do it in just one colour and without all this

it sounds like u might prefer that.  i guess or hope that the other 12900 agree with my reasons for doing it this way.
what are they?  well, why should really intelligent useful stuff look like boring grey armies of ant drones crawling in straight lines across the page?  no reason except Gutenberg, right?  and we've gotten used to it and resist anything different.
but if it's delicious info and colourful argumentation why shouldn't the text reference that, eh?
i take your point that some people will miss it because of their expectations.  but, on the other hand, it might very well be attracting even more people who would have been put off by the grey wedges that look like Education.  we're about edutainment :)
also, highlighting and changing the colour of the significant statements allows other (bizzy) people to scan through for the, well, highlights :)

lemme know if you'd like to go on the unformatted list.  but i warn you that our joke is that people who choose that option must be over 50.  is true?

am 61 myself.  but it's about attitude :)

War Crimes
Seymour Hersh, probably the only senior American reporter who can hold his head high about his courageously lonely and honourable behaviour during the Iraq Fiasco and who must clearly be heading for a Nobel prize in Truth Revealing when the whole disgusting mess has finally settled, has recently been dropping hints of even darker things yet to come out of the bowels of Abu Ghraib.

Speaking to the ACLU in San Francisco, he was a little more explicit:
"The boys were sodomised with the cameras rolling, and the worst part is the soundtrack, of the boys shrieking.  And this is your government at war."
<http://news.independent.co.uk/world/middle_east/story.jsp?story=541472>

American Army Taking Hostages!
The boys mentioned are the children of women prisoners, first taken as hostages.  When U.S. soldiers raid a house and don't find the man they're looking for, nor even any they weren’t looking for, it is not at all unusual for them to take other family members, to be released if the wanted man turns himself in  what would you call that except hostage taking?!

The next step, logically and inevitably when you start from a “We Are Good, They Are Evil” mentality, is for these hostages to be further coerced, apparently, by having their children tortured in front of them or at least within earshot.

Given everything else we have heard, these claims are sadly entirely plausible.  Nor would Hersh make these claims if they weren't firmly documented.  The fact he hasn’t written publicly about them so far can only be
fear of some kind.

However he has publicly accused the US administration of complicity in covering up what he specifically called "
war crimes".  It's hard to sink much lower than this.  The United States has been torturing children.  This represents a moral - political nadir for america as low as the Vietnam War

MORAL RELATIVITY?!  U WANT MORAL RELATIVITY?!
Here’s The Bush/Blair Logic:

WE ARE GOOD THEY ARE EVIL BECAUSE
1.  We kill fewer people.
2.  We may
kill more, but we don't use the evil methods he uses.
3. We may
kill more and use methods just as evil, but we do lots of good to make up for it.
4. We
kill more, use methods just as evil, don't make up for it by doing any good, but at least we thoroughly investigate and acknowledge past evil before once again pretending that it has no bearing on current policy.

See elsewhere in this
UP! for Tony Blair’s confession of lying about mass graves.  Current confirmed numbers are around 5000.  Even construed harshly, crediting him with all the Iraqi dead in the Iran-Iraq war, Saddam may have killed 1.5 million people.
But the sanctions on Iraq alone killed on the same order of magnitude - at least 600,000 children under the age of five alone.

The Evil Empire tortures and sodomises children.  It bombs residential areas - sometimes for as little reason as the killing of a handful of mercenaries, sometimes for no reason at all.

As for doing good, even in a case like Iraq where U.S. prestige is on the line, where the US would have saved huge amounts of money if it had done a few basic things like rebuild Iraq's electrical power production, it
couldn't.  Whatever capacity America once had to do good in order to sugarcoat its empire (and the massacres that the empire entailed) is now long gone.

BAGHDAD, 15 Jul 2004 (IRIN) - At the Karkh juvenile detention facility in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, access to child detainees is difficult and human rights groups are concerned about their welfare, particularly following the release of photos in late April showing US troops forcing prisoners to simulate sex acts and abusing prisoners.

Amnesty International (AI) complained that it had been "refused access" to enter Coalition detention centres, except for a brief visit to one in Mosul, in northern Iraq.  The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) issued a statement earlier this year raising concern over child detainees: "UNICEF is profoundly disturbed by news reports alleging that children may have been among those abused in detention centres and prisons in Iraq”  the statement said.  It continued: "Any mistreatment, sexual abuse, exploitation or torture of children in detention is a violation of international law - including the Convention on the Rights of the Child."

Radiation is forever
RADIATION IN IRAQ EQUALS 250,000 NAGASAKI BOMBS!!!

This story’s about American weapons built with depleted uranium components. Just about all American bullets, tank shells, missiles, dumb bombs, smart bombs, 500 and 2,000-pound bombs, cruise missiles, and anything else engineered to help our side in the war of Us Against Them has depleted uranium in it. Lots of depleted uranium.

A single
cruise missile has 800 pounds of the stuff.

It turns out America used about
4 million pounds of the stuff, according to the Pentagon and the United Nations. That’s about equal to 1,333 cars of 3,000 pounds apiece. Imagine what a parking lot with 1,333 cars is like. The point is this was and is an industrial strength operation. It’s still going on, too.

Putting 4 million pounds of
Radioactive Uranium Dust (RUD) on the ground in Iraq was a definitely "on-purpose" kind of thing. It was not "just an accident."  Citizens of the United States, through their kids in the Army, did this on purpose.

When the depleted uranium bullets, missiles, or bombs hit something or explode most of the radioactive uranium turns instantly into
very, very small dust particles, too fine to even see (they call it uranium oxide, that's the really bad stuff). When US troops or Iraqis breathe as little as one gram into their lungs, it’s like getting an X-Ray every hour for the rest of their shortened life. The depleted uranium cannot be removed, there is no treatment, there is no cure. The depleted uranium will long outlast the veterans' and the Iraqis' bodies - it lasts virtually forever.

250,000 Nagasaki bombs!!!
An admiral, former chief of the naval staff of India, wanted to express the amount in a figure that the world, especially the non-American world, could easily understand. He decided to figure out how many Nagasaki plutonium bombs it would take to include the equivalent of the total amount of radiation deployed in Iraq in 2003 in the 4 million Pounds of depleted uranium.

He also wanted to figure out how much radiation the United States Military Forces have deployed in the last five American wars, the so-called
5 Nuclear Radiation Wars. That’s a simple enough task for somebody like the naval chief of staff for a country that’s a member of the Nuclear Club. Using the Nagasaki bomb for the measuring stick is a particularly gruesome twist, though.

For Americans who do not know it, US military forces dropped 2 nuclear bombs on Japan during
World War II, one on the city of Hiroshima, the other on the city of Nagasaki. Nearly a quarter of a million people were vaporised or incinerated immediately.. The rest of the world remembers that. It’s a measuring stick that plays very well to them; but, not very well on the Fox-like American media. The Department of Energy still lists the Hiroshima and Nagasaki detonations as "tests".

The admiral released the data months ago at a scientific conference in India.
HAVE YOU SEEN IT REPORTED?!  He calculated the amount of radiation in the Nagasaki bomb and compared it with the number in the 4 million pounds of depleted uranium left in Iraq from the 2003 war. It’s a lot more complex than that; but that’s essentially what the experts in India did.

How many Nagasaki bombs equal the radiation in the 2003 Iraq war? Answer: about 250,000 Nagasaki bombs!!!

How many Nagasaki bombs equal the radiation in the last 5 American Nuclear Radiation Wars? Answer: about 400,000 Nagasaki bombs.

Who would do something like this?
America would. The only people in the history of the world to engage in nuclear wars are Americans..

In 1943 The US War Department knew exactly what uranium bullets and bombs were good for. If the nuclear weapons did not detonate in Japan, the use of uranium bullets and bombs were the fall back position. It was not till Ronald Reagan was president in 1981 that the re-named Defense Department resurrected the deadly radioactive uranium bullets, shells, bombs, and missiles. No wonder his popular nick-name was
Ronnie Ray-Gun.

The American military knew the symptoms of radiation poisoning in 1943, too; starting with the irritated sore throat through to an agonising death from being cooked from the inside out.

Bush promised to invade and attack many countries in the 2003 State of the Union speech. For some reason, some misguided Americans do not believe him, or think he was "
exaggerating." The rest of the world, however, has every reason to believe him and fear him.

The president has plenty of raw material for radioactive uranium munitions left. There are more than 77,000 tons stored at the 103 nuclear waste plants and a stunning 1.5 billion pounds at the several nuclear weapons labs and related facilities. Each nuke waste generating plant makes another 250 pounds of radioactive material a day for radioactive bullets, shells, bombs, and missiles. Not to put too fine a point on it; that’s enough for 288 more gloriously successful campaigns like the
2003 Nuclear Radiation War in Iraq. Who's next?

Every year about this time the southern winds leave a fine desert sand on the windshields of cars in Africa then Continental Europe and Britain. Soon this sand dust will carry a surprise. Thanks to the Americans. Thanks to us. We did this to the world. And, we wonder why they hate and despise us so!!!

These depleted uranium weapons' indiscriminate killing effect gives a whole new meaning to the age old term: cannon fodder. In Iraq, what goes around, comes around. If not the depleted uranium munitions themselves, the depleted uranium dust will be in the bodies of our returning armed forces, time bombs slowly ticking away the lives of the gullible and the ignorant with their very own personal internal radiation source, the cannon fodder of the 21st Century American Nuclear Radiation Wars.

A lot of people have done everything they can think of to stop these nuclear wars. Even more specifically to stop the use of depleted uranium in munitions and shut down the nuclear power plants. We have tried and failed for years. Why don't you give it a try? Can't hurt anything! Write what steps you would take to turn this situation around.  Contact:

THE INFO THE MEDIA & ORTHODOXY WOULD LIKE TO STIFLE
"ACCESS FOR ALL" at Bangkok Aids Conference?
More LikeACCESS FOR ALL TO OUR UNVALIDATED HIV TESTS AND EXTREMELY PROFITABLE DRUGS
by Marcel Girodian

The XV International Aids Conference in Bangkok has the noble theme, "Access For All,"  and, according to the promoters, "we will ensure that all voices, all experiences and all concerns are represented.

That’s not happening.  All voices are not being represented, and access for all is not being granted, with regard to some very fundamental and critical issues.

1.  HIV Testing
In the US, most of Europe and Australia, you’re not considered HIV infected until a minimum of 2 criteria have been satisfied - testing positive first to a screening test (usually an ELISA test) and then to a confirmatory test (almost always the Western Blot).   Indeed. in the US, if the ELISA is positive, it’s usually repeated, and only if positive again is the Western Blot run.  And if that's positive, the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends that the entire set of tests be run again, on a new blood sample, to reduce the chances that the tests could be reacting to one of the over 70 common conditions that are documented to cause false positives.

Sounds quite sensible, right?  given the overall dodginess of what the tests are actually measuring in the first place (see last
UP!)

But if that’s sensible and proper, why isn’t it being done in Thailand and other 3rd world countries?!

There, people are routinely pronounced HIV positive after only 2 screening tests - 2 ELISAs or an ELISA and a GPA.  The more specific Western Blot is used only if the 2 screening tests disagree.  This has many problems.  Since these tests were developed to screen blood donations, they’re super sensitive  i.e. more likely to be falsely reactive to almost any condition that causes antibody proliferation in the blood  such as the common cold, flu, herpes, pregnancy or past pregnancy, drug abuse, numerous viral and bacterial infections and many others.

Moreover, according to Dr. Praphan Phanuphak, Aids specialist at Chulalongkorn University, in Thailand both tests are usually run on the same single blood sample.  This means that if some condition is causing a
false positive, nobody’s bothering to wait for it to clear to get a 2nd sample to be sure before declaring the unfortunate person positive.

Now why would that be happening?

In its role as Aids advisor to the Thai government, the US CDC (which even has an office in the Thai Ministry of Health Building and offices in large cities across Thailand) is not raising its voice in objection to what is a dubious and very cavalier procedure for branding Thai people HIV positive
- a procedure that in the West would have a doctor called up for malpractice
- a procedure that violates CDC's own recommendations for Americans.

Why is there one HIV positivity standard for westerners, and a different, more lax one, for Thais?

The answer generally given is that the Western Blot test is too expensive for poorer countries.  But, according to Dr. Phanuphak, the WB costs $30 US in Bangkok.  So, while the AIDS establishment wants to ensure "access for all" to highly toxic AIDS drugs which, even in Thailand, cost hundreds to thousands of US dollars a year, per person, they are not willing to provide “access for all” to a $30 test that, if it just spared one Thai, would save enough money to test a further 20!

It could also acquit Thai people of being HIV positive in the first place!

How likely a possibility is that?

·       In a study conducted in Russia on 30,000 people who’d tested positive on the ELISA, only 66 were confirmed by a positive Western Blot!!  (Voevodin, A. 1992).
·       In a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine in 1988, 65% of twice-positive ELISAs were not confirmed by Western Blot (Burke, et al).
·       In a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, 30 to 80% of twice-positive ELISAs were not positive on the Western Blot. (Sloand et al, 1991)
·       The medical literature has many studies that have reached similar conclusions.

And what about those cases in Thailand where the Western Blot is used, generally only as a "tiebreaker" when the two screening tests disagree?   But even here, the test is evaluated differently in Thailand than it is in the west.  According to Dr. Wiwat Rojanapithayakorn of UN Aids, in Thailand only 2 of the 10 bands (which are supposed to represent HIV proteins) on the Western Blot test must be reactive to the person's blood to be declared positive.  In the US, 3 or more bands are needed, and in France and Australia, usually 4.

As a group of scientists from the University of Western Australia, Eleni Papadopulos-Eleopulos, Dr. Valendar Turner, Dr. David Causer and Dr. John M. Papadimitriou, concluded, "
Many HIV positive Thais would not be HIV positive in the West."

No AIDS expert has ever provided any logical justification for these differing HIV positivity standards.  But, since the countries that pronounce people positive without a Western Blot (
in Africa, even without any test at all) are generally developing countries, the suspicion must arise that "HIV" positivity is politically, not medically defined.  As testing positive ruins a person's life, one must ask:
-       who decided that Western lives are more valuable than those of Thais or Africans
-       under whose influence have these dubious testing procedures been implemented?
-       why has nobody in a position of responsibility challenged them?

Testing positive for HIV antibodies produces staggering psychological stress and turmoil, which by itself is proven to suppress the immune system and make a person more likely to get ill.  It is well documented that many people commit suicide shortly after being declared HIV positive.  Nobody should be branded with the stigma "positive" and have their lives crushed on relaxed criteria that would not be allowed in richer countries.

2.  Alternative Views On Nature / Causation Of AIDS
Another way that the XV International Aids Conference is not providing "Access For All" is that they are not allowing alternative opinions about the nature and causation of AIDS to be heard.  People in Thailand are not allowed to know that there are literally hundreds of fully credentialed doctors and scientists, including 2 Nobel Prize winners, who don't think HIV is the cause of AIDS, don't think the tests are valid, and point out that the AIDS medicines are toxic and immune-suppressive and capable of causing AIDS all by themselves.  You can see a list of these scientists and quotations from them at
http://aras.ab.ca/articles/AIDSQuotes.htm
>> as i said last week if they ever find a “cure” for Aids they will have unleashed the most antibiotic poison ever known.

There are many bizarre anomalies about Aids in Thailand that have never been explained.  Unlike in the west, for example, where the disease is overwhelmingly restricted to male homosexuals and drug addicts, in Thailand the epidemic is said to be almost entirely heterosexual.  Yet approximately 80% of the actual recorded "heterosexual" Aids cases in Thailand have been males.  This is despite the fact that females, due to their much more receptive genital anatomy, have been found to be 8 times more likely than males to become infected from a single act of vaginal sex (Padian, et al, 1997).  If HIV is the cause of AIDS, why aren't most of Thailand's AIDS cases female?  Why are they overwhelmingly male, just as they are in the west?

The idea that the epidemic is caused by heterosexual sex in Thailand, and not by drug use or homosexual anal sex, as it is in the west, is largely based on interviews with people who test positive.  But scientists conducting such studies routinely overlook the fact that people lie when self-reporting about stigmatised activities like homosexuality and drug use.  We know that Thailand has an unusually large percentage of homosexual males, especially in the north.  And, with Thailand's severe drug laws, a person would have to be crazy to admit to a government-connected researcher that he uses illegal drugs.  Recreational drugs, whether injected or non-injected, can cause false positive HIV tests, and where are these drugs most available?  Why in Northern Thailand, of course, adjacent to Burma and the golden triangle, and, "
coincidentally," the epicentre of Thailand's Aids epidemic.

Since prostitution is declared to be a major vector for HIV transmission in Thailand, why are the prostitution centres- Bangkok and Pattaya - not the epicentres of this epidemic?  Why is it the north, where there is much less prostitution?  And how did a virus that is said to have originated in Africa get to Northern Thailand in such great numbers?  Anyone who’s spent time in Northern Thailand knows that Africans are about as common there as banana trees are in Sweden.  In the west, prostitutes are almost never found to be HIV positive unless they are drug users.  Why should this be different in Thailand?  Can false positivity, caused mostly by drug abuse, explain the high level of HIV positive tests among brothel workers?  It's a perfectly rational explanation that hasn't been pursued.

Thai studies have claimed HIV transmission rates as high as 1 in 18 sexual contacts.  But most studies done in the west have concluded that HIV only transmits, at best, 1 in 1000 unprotected contacts, and as little as 1 in 8000 from females to males.  Is there something different about Thai genital anatomy that accounts for the staggering difference?

Dr. Christian Fiala, an Austrian physician who worked at Chulalongkorn University in the 1980s, points out that HIV's rapid increase in Thailand in the 1990s happened at the same time that Thai sexually transmitted disease (STD) rates were declining sharply.  Since HIV is 100 to 2000 times harder to transmit than other STDs, if other STDs decline, HIV should decline much more.  Instead it skyrocketed as other STDs were crashing.  This is impossible behaviour for an allegedly sexually transmitted HIV.

Dr. Fiala also finds other baffling contradictions: "
The highest prevalence of STDs is in Bangkok.  But HIV and AIDS are both highest in the North.  But STD prevalence is second lowest in the North.  And even if one looks in more detail at the North one sees that there is absolutely no correlation between STDs and AIDS.”

Because many Thai bar girls come from Issan, one would expect Issan to have a high rate of AIDS. Instead, Issan has one of the lowest AIDS rates of any region in Thailand.  In short, the Thai AIDS data do not support the idea that AIDS is heterosexually transmitted.  Fiala concludes, "
Whatever might be the cause of HIV-positive tests in Thailand, it can not be heterosexually transmitted like the other STDs."

Sponsored & Financed By The Drug Companies
Considering that throughout medical history, the establishment view about all sorts of maladies has ultimately been proven false, by now we should have a more enlightened attitude.  The right to hear alternative and dissenting opinions about medical matters should be a basic human right, especially to those people branded "HIV positive" under these very dubious circumstances.

But the XV International Aids Conference,
sponsored and financed as it is by the drug companies, will recognise no such human rights except the right which they claim everyone has - to swallow (at public subsidy) toxic chemotherapy drugs which, though endlessly hyped as "life-saving," have never been demonstrated in any study to actually prolong life.  Yes, these drugs often reduce a laboratory measure questionably called "viral load" and they seem to raise the white blood cell count, but there’s little evidence that anyone who takes them actually lives longer.  Indeed, two recent studies from Uganda (Morgan D et al, 2002 and Collaborative Group on AIDS Incubation and HIV Survival, 2000) found that unmedicated HIV + Ugandans lived as long after diagnosis as did HIV + westerners who were taking the Aids drugs.  And these Ugandans had the disadvantage of being malnourished, while the westerners had plenty of food.  (Malnutrition is the world's leading cause of immune deficiency.)
>> like i said last week, the West reinterprets the malnourishment its global system is causing in 3rd world countries as a sexual disease and ends up selling them expensive toxic drugs that make them worse!

Though they haven't been proven to extend life, the AIDS drugs that XV International wants everyone to have access to have been proven to have many grotesque side effects such as heart failure, liver failure, kidney failure, pancreatitis, blood cell destruction and bone marrow destruction, nerve damage, psychiatric problems, anaemia, diarrhoea, blindness, cancer, and muscle wasting-side effects which are conveniently attributed to "HIV," although there are no known mechanisms by which "HIV" can be causing them.

XV International Aids Conference should either address these issues in a very public way, thereby ensuring "
Access for All" to critical information that might allow Thai people to see HIV positivity and Aids in a new light, or change their slogan to "Access For All To Our Unvalidated HIV Tests and Extremely Profitable Drugs," which perhaps sums up their philosophy more accurately.

up!

Fraser, I forwarded David Icke’s Aids piece to some friends who work in this area  - they say its complete bollocks !
Begin forwarded message
:

Sorry my friend ... but this really is bollox.
It's certainly true that poverty is a disease in itself .... a virulent one that we have long chosen to ignore.  Nonetheless,
HIV is very very real, and it's impoverishing people, countries and continents all over the world.  In Botswana, one of the richest countries in Southern Africa, life expectancy has fallen from over 50 years to under 30.
>> only now we know, from the previous article, just how they ‘create’ these scary figures, right?

Now that therapies exist it would also be true to say that it is neglect and inaction that is killing people rather than HIV ... denying it's existence won't help change things.
Check out:

I can give you a whole load of other references as well if you like.
>> wozzit from icke i don't think so.  oh, i checked, it said "further info there".  so he’s picked up on the controversy, surprise surprise :)

obviously i know am hopelessly outnumbered on this one, scott, which is why i went quiet for a few years.  but now i see the opposition getting saddled up and its facts sorted and its legal claims in place.  and more than my gut has told me from the beginning this is a rat.  a case of "always finding what you're projecting out there".

do your friends work professionally in the Aids biz?  only asking :)  make sure they see today’s piece, it goes considerably closer to their bone.

i pray that the truth OUTS, one way or tother!

The Elders - Crucial To Evolutionary Success Of Humans
Will Knight
, NewScientist.com news service
Senior citizens played an important role in the dramatic spread of human civilisation some 30,000 years ago, a study of the human fossil record has shown.

Rachel Caspari at the University of Michigan and Sang-Hee Lee at the University of California at Riverside studied dental fossils belonging to early humans and pre-human species dating back 3 million years.  They judged the age of specimens by examining wear to teeth and classified "
old" as twice the age of sexual maturity - roughly 30 years.

The fossils examined included Australopithecines (3 million years ago) Homo erectus, a more human-like ancestor that emerged 1 million years ago, along with Neanderthals and early modern humans, which co-existed some 50,000 years ago.

They found a 5-fold increase in the number of individuals surviving into old age in the
Early Upper Palaeolithic period - around 30,000 years ago.
>> also, of course, when the apes first encountered the magic mushroom, the true cause of evolution as is simply obvious to the unbiased eye.

This coincides with an explosive population growth of modern humans and the spread of archaeological artefacts that suggest the development of more complex social organisation.

"
In the Upper Palaeolithic the proportion just skyrocketed," Caspari said. "It was just unbelievable. We didn't expect that."

The Grandmother Hypothesis
Anthropologists have long suspected that older people may have played an important role in the development of early human societies by providing extra care for children, helping to accumulate useful information and strengthening kinship bonds.

The so-called "
Grandmother Hypothesis", based on studies of African hunter-gatherer groups, suggests that infertile women are vital for successful child-rearing despite being unable to produce children themselves.

"
I'm not massively surprised," Rob Kruszynskia, an expert in human evolution at the UK's Natural History Museum, told New Scientist. "The suggestion is that a tribe will benefit because of the extra mothering that older women can give."
>> and what will the mushroom give?! it’s staring them in the face!

Krusizynskia also notes that various other factors, like diet, language, tool-making abilities and social bonding were undoubtedly also important to the success of modern humans.
>> diet, language and social bonding being key elements which the mushroom affected.

Caspari believes that older people [Mushroom Elders?] may have given modern humans an evolutionary edge.  "There has been a lot of speculation about what gave modern humans their evolutionary advantage," Caspari said.  "This research provides a simple explanation for which there is now concrete evidence: modern humans were older and wiser."

how to end terrorism at a single stroke
// PLEASE CIRCULATE TO ALL CONCERNED PLANETARY CITIZENS //

an apology & solution offered to all arabs to end defensive jihad terrorism
by a citizen of the west

WE WHO CALL FOR PEACE MUST OFFER MORE THAN JUST THE HOPE THAT THE PROBLEM WILL GO AWAY.  PEACE IS A RESULT, NOT A SOLUTION!  IT IS THE RESULT OF ACTIONS TAKEN TO RESOLVE A PROBLEM.

TO END DEFENSIVE JIHAD TERRORISM WE MUST IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM, THEN DEAL WITH THE CAUSES.

THE PROBLEM/PEACE SOLUTION
1. except where we are able to admit our own far far worse & far far longer term terrorism, we must stop seeing it purely as terrorism.
”The killers are those who kill - and that includes our pilots as well as their bombers. We don't want to kill civilians, but we know that our wars will do that, and death does not come more pleasantly or less painfully because the victims are killed by the supposedly benevolent West rather than the supposedly cruel East. Now we are beginning to pay the price.”  Robert Fisk

2. al-queda leaders have made very clear all along that they are fighting a defensive jihad, the only one permitted by islam - the kind saladin fought successfully against the christian crusades.  indeed, as I read mohamed’s words, such action is obligatory on all muslims when the Faith / Faithful are under attack.  once a defensive jihad has been declared, aggressive attacks on the Enemy become permitted, even required.

(if your response is THEYRE ATTACKING US!, then ask yourself how many arab soldiers are positioned in your country.  and if u say, after all this, that our military were invited in by some MEGA FAT QUISLING SHEIKH, then I say u r a baboon :))  such ignorance is a geometrically accelerating danger to me and to all people on this planet.

3. we ALREADY KNOW against what those thousands of terrorists and hundreds of thousands of supporters are defending. and their demands are eminently reasonable:

A.  REMOVAL OF ALL FOREIGN TROOPS FROM ARAB LANDS (except UN)

B.  IMPOSITION OF A UN AGREED PEACE SETTLEMENT AROUND ISRAEL’S BORDERS. (militarily if necessarily, and for as long as required -  like yugoslavia).

these are an absolute minimum, are eminently reasonable, would already stop the massive spread of terrorism in its tracks, and would save hundreds (possibly hundreds of thousands?) of western lives over the next decade.  meanwhile the withdrawn personnel and equipment should be put to protecting our own homelands and borders.

C. FINANCIAL COMPENSATION FOR ALL FORCED CONTRACTS AND CRIMES AGAINST THEM, AND A SIMULTANEOUS CANCELLATION OF ALL WORLD DEBT (for the same reasons - and let’s pray the africans and the indians will be more ‘understanding’ than the arabs!)
removing soldiers and settling the israel question only delivers a level playing field, it would not be nearly enough to compensate for all the bullying terrorism we have practised on their civilisation over the centuries and since the discovery of oil.
what’s fundamentally required is not some begrudging inch-by-inch retreat but a Magnificent Public Gesture to show Sincerity and Contrition (far better than having it forced on us at a later date when SOME terrorism continued to develop).  the establishing of a fair “market price” for oil would be an excellent step in this general direction - say double what we’ve allowed so far?

the above actions (or UN promises to implement) would, at a single stroke or in several steps,
i]  cut off the ‘religious’ base of the jihad
ii] answer the political grievances
iii] resolve the economic crimes.
they would thus drain the massively spawning community of fanatics of public support, the planet would be perceived by all its inhabitants to be on a proper and fair evolutionary path at last, the terrorism problem would begin to wither on the vine, and surprisingly quickly the present problem would be looked back on as having been little more than a learning curve on humanity’s progress towards globality.

obviously none of this can begin to happen till the dinosaurs have finally been shrugged onto the Fossil Record, with the name George Bush consigned to History as the planet’s Greatest Bogyman & Schmuck.  sounds about right to me :)
