HOPE YOU HAD A VERY VERY XMAS!
NOW HAVE A HAPPY
//YOU YEAR!

“go to bed now, or the big bad bin laden will come and get you :-(
what a year it’s been, huh, this first year of a new millennium that promised so much? :-(
are we heading into a
Century of Terror? i heard one of those old ‘60s media stars admit the other day that she wondered if that last half of the 20th century would be seen by history as a brief Peace Era.
i offen notice how ’alternative’ people who made it in the ‘60s, and were thus doomed to lose touch with the street level of the culture, can only see their own dream (of global village communalism) dying, while having no way of making contact with the ‘heart’ of the gigantic ‘youth’ movement across the planet which i sense is now hovering on the edge of turning against war culture and all it stands for and going for Justice built on peaceful resolution of differences (half of which is probably dancing together!). call me a fool, i just sense this colossal heave of a planetary species as it struggles to the Final Leap of an aching, age-long Learning Process.

a millennium is... a long time :) it could easily come in as a lion and go out as a lamb, which could mean another 500 years of violence. but, AT THE VERY BEST, we hardly expected all the ‘baddies’ to just lay down their arms on the monday morning, and more importantly their conditioning, now did we? so, in this realistic perspective, we would EXPECT some karma from the last to overlap into this new millennium. yes? :)
indeed it still holds the reins of power tho very insecure and panicky, i’d guess.
and lastly on the positive notes, if i was god, and writing the Script, i’d find it exquisitely rich and spermatic that, in that Winter of War and Time of Terror, by far the best selling movie of all time was Lord of the Ring. it’s as if that bastion of hippy culture, that quintessential Epic Tale of Good against the Evil Empire, is seen to be winning over public opinion, capturing popular culture, and maybe all we have to do now is wait for it (and help it) to permeate into the corridors of power until the second millennium is finally laid, screaming & kikking no doubt, to rest.

(-: THE CHRISTMAS EVE CALL :-)
It was Xmas eve and this pastor was working late, so he decided to call his wife before he left for home. It was about 10pm, but, though he let it ring many times, his wife didn't answer.
It was odd, but he decided to wrap up the last few presents and try again in a few minutes. When he did, she answered right away. When he asked why she hadn't answered before, she said it hadn't rung. They brushed it off as a fluke and Xmas passed most splendidly.
The day after Boxing Day our pastor received a call at the church office, which was the phone he'd used on Xmas Eve. The man on the other end wanted to know why he'd called on Xmas Eve.
When the pastor couldn't make sense of what he was saying, the man said
, "It rang and rang, but I didn't answer?" At which point the pastor remembered the mishap, realised what must have happened, and apologized profusely, explaining that he'd intended calling his wife.
"Oh, that's OK,” the man chuckled, “But let me tell you my story. You see, I had decided to commit suicide on Xmas night, but before I did, I
prayed,
'God if you're there, and you don't want me to do this, give me a sign now.’
“And then my phone started to ring!! I looked at the caller ID, and
it said,
'Almighty God'. I was too afraid to answer!"
The reason the man's caller ID showed that the call came from "Almighty God" is because the pastor’s church is called
Almighty God Tabernacle. :-)

A XMAS PREZZY FROM PARA YOU -
A CYBER DODGE TO PREVENT A VIRUS
MAILING ITSELF TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS
This trick, tho it won't keep the virus from getting into your computer, will
a)
stop it from using your address book to infect everyone you know
b) alert you to the fact that there’s a worm in your system
First, open your address book and click on "NEW CONTACT" just as you would do if you were adding someone to your list of email addresses.
In the window where you would type your friend's first name, type in
!000 (that's an exclamation mark followed by 3 zeros).
In the window below where it prompts you to enter the newemail address, type in
WORMALERT, which of course isn't a real email address.
Then complete everything by clicking
ADD, ENTER, OK, etc.

HERE'S WHY IT WORKS:
Because you’ve named it !000 it becomes entry #1 at the top of your address book. This is where any worm will start in its effort to send itself to all your friends.
But when it tries to send itself to !000, it will be undeliverable because of the phony email address you entered (WORMALERT). If the first attempt fails (which it will because of the phony address), the worm goes no further and your friends will not be infected.
ALSO, if an email can’t be delivered, you’ll be notified in your INBOX. So if, Allah forbid, you get an email telling you an email to WORMALERT was undeliverable, you know you gotta worm!

STOP PRESS:
Microsoft Outlook email users BEWARE.
Most of you are well aware never to open an exe attachment if you didn’t know it was coming beforehand, But, with the holiday spirit upon them, many users are unwittingly making themselves vulnerable to a new virus which comes with the subject "Happy New Year" and an attachment called Christmas.exe. :-(
DON’T OPEN THIS BOX B4 OR AFTER XMAS! This only affects Microsoft Outlook users.

JOKE OF THE YEAR! OFFICIAL!!*
* from an academic study on humour, comparing 10,000 entries
Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson pitch their tents under the stars.
During the night, Holmes wakes his companion with: “
Watson, look up and tell me what you see.'
“I see millions of stars” Watson replies.
“Yes, and what do you deduce from this, my good doctor?” demands Sherlock Holmes.
“Well... even if only a few of those have planets, it's quite likely there are some planets like Earth, and “
“No, no, you idiot!” Holmes impatiently interjects (having not had a snort since the previous evening).
“Since you can see millions of stars instead of the roof of the tent you can deduce that our tents have been stolen!"

UNREPORTED U.S. CASUALTIES?
Reports in the Asian media suggest that the Pentagon is not only downplaying civilian Afghan deaths. It’s also being economical with the truth concerning its own casualties, obviously to avoid questions being raised by the American public.
A Pakistani newspaper reported on 8 November that the Taliban had killed 45 US special forces after a raid inside Afghanistan.
In a UPI article dated Nov 17, reporter Richard Sale quotes an unnamed U.S. administration official as saying that between 25 and 40 U.S. Special Forces have been killed so far, mostly in fighting in southern Afghanistan, around Kandahar.
When Secretary of Defence Donald Rumsfeld said no Americans were killed in these operations, a State Department official retorted ‘that's crazy’.

cyber safari hallucination in the desert?
i finally worked out the mystery of quarquezate. that town where i changed buses on my way to the desert, that place in the middle of nowhere with no reason to be there, no old town even, just a waste of space? and yet i’d been told that it was an amazing place i should on no account miss?
well, it turns out that it was just outside
quarquezate that that huge rave took place about a year ago, remember, the one on an island in the middle of a lake? quarquezate!
4000 mixed european ravers suddenly descended on that one palm tree town, playing ghetto blasters, and smoking dope and dancing all over the town like a hallucinated vision of the future and the townspeople gradually joined in as
megatripolis birthed Herself for 48 hours in the middle of nowhere!

GLOBAL POLL FINDS MOST THINK AMERICA BROUGHT TERROR ATTACKS ON ITSELF
By Rupert Cornwell in Washington
Did America somehow ask for the terrorist outrages in New York and Washington?
Very few leading Americans think so. But most people of influence in the rest of the world, and nearly 80 per cent in the Middle East and the Islamic world, believe that, to a certain extent, the US was asking for it.
This is the most striking finding of a poll exploring global attitudes to the United States by the
Pew Research Centre, the Princeton Survey Research Associates and the International Herald Tribune newspaper among 275 people of influence in politics, media, business and culture.
In startling manner, the survey highlights the difference between how Americans think they are seen, and the way the rest of the world actually see them.

"US policies & actions in the world were a main cause of the attacks.”
18% - America
58% - Elsewhere
81% - Middle East and the area around Afghanistan

“The United States has been considering its partners' interests”
70% - America
30% - Elsewhere

“No one could think the US has overreacted to the terrorist attacks”
100% - America
60% - Elsewhere
40% - Islamic world

“Our people would support extending the anti-terrorist offensive to countries like Iraq and Somalia”
Less than 50%, even in Europe.

“It’s good that Americans have now realised what it is to be vulnerable”
70% - Elsewhere, including Europe, the Middle East, Russia and Asia

Most striking, though, is the gulf in perceptions. In countless speeches, American spokesmen have portrayed the war as a battle between good and evil, with the terrorists bent on destroying America's way of life. Its position as a beacon of freedom and democracy, Americans believe, is the reason the rest of the world most admires their country.
But this is not so. While a majority of Americans think people admire America because "it does a lot of good around the world", the biggest appeal of America lies in its technological prowess, according to large majorities of those interviewed in the rest of the world.

PEOPLE POT POWER ALIVE IN SAN FRAN!
THE HEMPIRE STRIKES BART!

MON DEC 17 Bay Area Rapid Transit announces it will deploy marijuana sniffing dogs on the subway lines that run between Berkeley, Oakland & San Francisco.
TUES DEC 18 Commuters pass a plan of defence around by word of mouth.
WED DEC 19 Throughout the morning commute, hundreds of ordinary suited office workers pull spray bottles out of their briefcases & spray Bong water around to cheers and applause from the other straphangers. Large amounts of ground leaf shake are also stuffed into the upholstery... No objections or complaints are noted...

Interesting thing about the American middle class, this may be a country of closet puffers, but they sure won't stand getting busted for their Lunchtime Joint!
It was heartening to see such effective activism by ordinary office workers...
Dave Chapelle once said that pot smokers are the biggest secret society in the USA ... Could we be seeing the emergence of a new coalition?

FRI DEC 21 The San Francisco Chronicle announced today that BART has ceased operation of it's pot sniffing dog program....
See www.sfgate.com for the official story... They avoid mentioning the nature of the`protest`!

ANTI-GLOBEWARMING BOYCOTT OF AMERICAN GOODS?
Hi Fraser!
When South Africa was acting against the moral will of the planet they received a global: don't buy their goods policy. I was considering if the US policy on global warming is worth similar consideration! With 2001 being the 2nd warmest year since records begun 140 years ago, this selfish policy is going to destroy it for everyone! I’ll be hit hard as a Mac lover but I’m ready! :))!
Jonathan
www.newagegossip.co.uk
this sounds like it has the germ of a Great Idea within it, johnathan. if the american bottom moral line is “pleasing my shareholders” then this would be the most powerful tool the rest of us have. i’m gonna 'launch' the sperm of the idea in the UP, johnathen, and see what kinda birth canal it finds for itself heh heh.
i won't miss big macs myself. wot will i miss?.... hey, i can’t think of much except movies and i don’t go to them much at all. anybody like to write in and tell us what they would most miss if this campaign kicks off, we could do a list. maybe also each of us should be allowed to indulge in a couple of stated american preferences.
and maybe the campaign should be more specifically directed?

UNILATERAL? YES, INDEED!
A XMAS EDUTAINMENT
and another
XMAS PREZZY FROM PARA YOU
A ‘UNILATERAL’ FRASER DEMOLITION JOB ON REDNECK WRITER CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER :)
London’s chattering classes were stirred by a US fascist sympathiser’s article in the Guardian last week, praising Bush & The Bommers to the skies. If bullies who swagger like this are not taken to task, they start to think everybody’s agreeing with them!
FOR MAXIMUM EDUTAINMENT, READ KRAUTHAMMER’S ENTIRE TEXT FIRST (in red), THEN RETURN TO GIGGLE AT FRASER’S STEP BY STEP DESTRUCTION (in lilac) OF A DANGEROUSLY DISGUSTING CHARACTER.
ALSO, BY READING THE JOURNALIST’S ENTIRE TEXT FIRST, YOU GAIN A DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF HOW THE SHORT-TERM, FORWARD IMPETUS OF THE WAR MACHINE’S PROPAGANDA INEVITABLY WINS AT FIRST, BUT WHY, OVER TIME, AS THE MANY MANY HOLES IN IT BEGIN TO BE REVEALED, EVERYTHING FALLS APART, AND BUSH JR WILL END UP FOLLOWING HIS WAR-WINNING DAD INTO OBSCURITY.

UNILATERAL? YES, INDEED!
By Charles Krauthammer The Guardian, DEC 14
Last month's Putin-Bush summit was deemed an arms control failure because the rumored deal - Russia agrees to let us partially test, but not deploy, defenses that violate the 1972 Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty never came off.
and who ‘rumored’ it in the first place while u were trying to get him on side for the slaughter you have the nerve to call “war”?
and what do you mean ‘us’, white man?!

In fact, it was a triumph.
DEFINE ‘triumph.’ was it a triumph for
a) all Life in the Universe?
b) humanity on this planet?
c) america?
d) the small elite who run america, whose lackey you are?
e) the tiny number of ‘families’ who run the small elite, and who laff snidely at you for having to do menial work like journalism?

Like Reagan at the famous 1986 Reykjavik summit, at which he would not give up the Strategic Defense Initiative to Gorbachev, Bush was not about to allow Putin to lock the US into any deal that would prevent us from building ABM defenses.
quite the contrary, kraut hammer. you’re already “locked in a deal”. yer boy bush was BREAKING a solemn treaty that took decades and much blood and fear to create.

Bush proved that yesterday when he dropped the bombshell and unilaterally withdrew the United States from the treaty, and thus from all its absurd restrictions on ABM technology.
i guess that’s the “freedom” you’ve been massacring afghani children for, eh?
“dropped the bombshell”? boy, u redneck fundamentalists ain’t big on sensitivity or subtlety i guess. have you no feelings for the 3,500 innocent afghans you’ve killed?!

This is deeply significant, not just because it marks a return to strategic sanity,
take my advice on this, hammer, DON’T MENTION SANITY! 95% of this planet’s population outside america already think you guys are murderous greedy psychopaths. stick to ‘inevitable logic’ and ‘logical conclusions’ even though we all know it’s not true.

formally recognizing that the ballistic missile will be to the 21st century what the tank and the bomber were to the 20th,
or wot the carpet cutter will be to star wars perhaps? oh, but that’s getting TOO ‘unilateral’ for yah, ain’t it?

but because it unashamedly reasserts the major theme of the Bush foreign policy: unilateralism.
osama couldn’t have said it better, asshole.

After Sept. 11, the critics (the usual troika: liberal media, foreign policy establishment, Democratic ex-officials)
bit soon to be the “usual troika” don’t you think? u mean the serious press, the professional diplomats and the last american government.

were clucking about how the Bush administration has beaten a hasty retreat from reckless unilateralism. President Bush "is strongly supported by the American people," explained former Senate leader George Mitchell, "in part because he has simply discarded almost everything he said on foreign policy prior to Sept. 11."
let’s hope he was right! r u sure they’ll go on supporting him now that he’s KEEPING his ‘insane’ policies!?

Bush had wanted to go it alone in the world, said the critics. But he dare not. "It's hard to see the president restoring the unilateralist tinge that colored so many of his early foreign policy choices," wrote columnist E. J. Dionne just two months ago. "Winning the battle against terror required an end to unilateralism."
sounds spot on to me, bro! he’s saying that bush and the boys have lost us the war on terrorism. if u can’t work that one out keep your ears open, ok? or did u think all those ‘muslims’ would get so mad that they’ll all pack it in and accept the status quo - “me just non-xtian shit!” do u honestly think that’s a likely scenario, or don’t you stop to think?

We need friends, they said.
u don’t think so? you got none then? is that what this is all about? mummy wouldn’t give you Love & friendship, so you’ll get loadsa money instead WITHOUT FRIENDS?

We need allies. We need coalition partners. We cannot alienate them again and again.
u might be right here, Kraut Hammer. since you’ve alienated and humiliated them, say, 50 times since the war, will 51 make all that difference? but it’s not fifty poker games, all of which you’ve won, it’s 50 moves in a chess game, and nobody’s won yet.

We cannot have a president who kills the Kyoto Protocol on greenhouse gases,
we cannot. just like you cannot walk down a busy road without getting us run over. just because we haven’t been run over since september 11 (assuming we accept that the other new york plane and now the new york cathedral were NOT terrorist retaliation as the Twin Terrors were)
and why do people like you have to ‘kill’ everything, even including protocols? couldn’t you just ‘drop’ it oh perhaps not, i c your problem!

summarily rejects the "enforcement provisions" of the bioweapons treaty,
the ones that would have got americans back into iraq? and give me ONE good reason why iraq should give up bio-weapons before the biggest terrorist on earth does?

trashes the ABM Treaty -- and expect to build the coalition we need to fight the war on terrorism.
well, he’s turned out to be right. you admit below that “the whole idea that the Afghan war is being fought by a ‘coalition’ is comical“.

We cannot? We did.
u didn’t. u used the most powerful and disgusting weapons short of nuclear to cut the war short (at the knees) cos u were losing the propaganda war and, i’d judge, your entire coalition for any future war. i doubt if even tony blazer will follow you into iraq.

Three months is all it took to make nonsense of these multilateralist protests.
it’s NOT a poker game, son. it’s a chess game. and all you’ve done so far is advance all your pawns. which ends up leaving you more open to attacks on the back line, the home front.

Coalition? The whole idea that the Afghan war is being fought by a "coalition" is comical.
comical? try this, u racist: “the whole idea that the Twin Terrors was carried out by a network is comical” show a little sensitivity to the afghan children your bomms have vapourised.
and anyway you’re making my point. people don’t tend to tell the bully where he’s going wrong. they wait for his come-uppance with their mouths tight shut. u have left yourself with no allies that have not been stretched to their absolute moral limits. you have NO friends, and, having now killed more innocents than you lost, you have recklessly and adolescently squandered and now have ZERO GOOD WILL from ALL non-americans on the planet.
hope you still find this comical. see if you can get the thousand afghani parents laffing along with you. and what would YOU do if your brother had been blown to bits by “the americans” when nobody you know has ever even SEEN one?! i know what you’d do, krauthammer, and it’s your best quality: YOU’D FOOKIN GET UP OFF YOUR KNEES AND DESTROY 101 TRADE CENTERS IN RETALIATION!

What exactly has Egypt contributed? France sent troops into Mazar-e Sharif after the fighting had stopped, noted that renowned military analyst Jay Leno. ("Their mission?" asked Leno. "To teach the Taliban how to surrender.")
lucky for you de gaule is gone. but, then, here you go creating new ones.
i wonder if this is connected to france calling your ONLY shoulder-to-shoulder ally, isnrhell, “a shitty leetle country ... that’s putting the whole world in danger” heh heh.

There is a coalition office somewhere in Islamabad. Can anyone even name the coalition spokesman who makes announcements about the war?
or can anyone name the UN leader who just won a nobel prize for ‘peace’?
(war is the new peace, by the way)
did that make you chuckle, Kraut? then try the corollary: PEACE IS THE NEW WAR. still laffin?

The "coalition" consists of little more than U.S. aircraft, U.S. special forces, and Afghan friends-of-the-moment on the ground.
boy did u just say it!
anyway, it’s not the first time that the ‘freedomluvvin’ right wing overlaps with the freedom luvin psychedelic wing and we’re both agreed and delighted that there’s no fookin ‘coalition’ it’s just u boys out there on yer own.
our only serious difference is that YOU don’t really know why that is, you think you’re engineering it, when i know exactly why and it’s because EVERYONE ON THE PLANET NOW HATES FASCIST AMERICA MUCH MUCH MORE THAN EVER BEFORE (when they could have LOVED u!)
oh, and one more thing which is only slowly beginning to dawn on me, YOU ARE ALL WAR CRIMINALS TOO, and the day will come when you and sharon and all the other storm troopers will share the same dock. and you didn’t even realise you were fascists! you thot u were freedom fighters!

Like the Gulf War, the Afghan war is unilateralism dressed up as multilateralism. We made it plain that even if no one followed us, we would go it alone. Surprise: others followed.
u just explained that they didn’t!
and u don’t consider that “you’re with us or against us” had anything to do with it? or, as i preferred more accurately to call the choice. “you getta billion or u get bommed.” but u r right, it’s Unilateralism, no argument there. Unrestrained lunacy.

A unilateralist does not object to people joining our fight. He only objects when the multilateralists, like Clinton in Kosovo, give 18 countries veto power over bombing targets.
chinese embassy bommed in belgrade. al jazeera bommed in kabul. bbc bommed in second iraq war?

The Afghan war is not a war run by committee. We made tough bilateral deals with useful neighbors: Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Russia. The Brits and the Australians added a sprinkling of guys on the ground risking their lives, and we will always be grateful for their solidarity. But everyone knows whose war it is.
so next time u guys get a black eye (or 4000) we shouldn’t feel sympathy for you? u c, the trouble with your attitude is that the shit can fall on OUR heads.

The result? The Taliban are destroyed.
and metamorphosed into the new government and fighting as guerillas in the mountains for the next 20 years? great, and these ‘trainee priests’ whom your brave soldiers killed from a thousand miles away never did you a single spot of harm in their whole lives.

Al Qaeda is on the run.
if they were a cancer then you just spread it all through the body.

Pakistan has made a historic pro-American strategic pivot,
president musharaf has been right royally fooked and the news tonight says india and pakistan have removed ambassadors and are just one step from war, oh well done!

as have the former Soviet republics, even Russia itself.
short of lying on his back with his legs apart what choices does putin have?
and as for the former republics, you’ve been corrupting them with mega bucks for a decade now, as you’ve been doing to the rest of the planet since september eleventh.

The Europeans are cooperating on prosecutions. Even the Arab states have muted their anti-American and anti-Israeli rhetoric, with the Egyptian foreign minister traveling to Jerusalem for the first time in three years.
u really don’t gettit, do u?! re-read what you’ve written and see how many times you define nations as their ‘leaders’. a cursory look at arab history shows their peoples have never liked the governments america has foisted on them. i know what they think now because i’ve just returned from a ‘muslim’ country where basically EVERYONE just sees america as a thick greedy bully who’s heading for his inevitable come-uppance.
YOU have made osama bin laden BIGGER than bob marley, robin hood, elvis and jesus rolled into one for just about every earth person outside america. well done! and whether you catch him or not he will only get bigger till he haunts your waking dreams.

Not because they love us. Not because we’ve embraced multilateralism. But because we have demonstrated astonishing military power and the will to defend vital American interests, unilaterally if necessary.
here’s what you’ve just said: many states have muted their criticism of america because of its anarchic use of superior military power. wouldn’t you call that THE IDEAL BREEDING SITUATION FOR TERRORISM?! (whose eradication is your primary aim, right? or do you have other motives than protecting american citizens, krauthammer?!!)

Where is the great Bush retreat from unilateralism? The ABM Treaty is dead. Kyoto is dead.
4000 afghanis are dead. thousands of ‘taliban’ are dead (that’s basically innocent people in case you’d forgotten, most of them trainee priests, NOT soldiers). and u certainly whupped them trainee priests’ asses good, general! i’m telling u this because i know you never got within 3000 miles of them. u really must come over and meet their families some time. oh u don’t expect to travel outside america ever again i c.

The new provisions of the totally useless biological weapons treaty are even deader:
and even more ‘useless’ now. especially, i know you’ll agree, when the ‘real’ enemy needs only to impregnate a thousand dollar bills with smallpox and release them individually in, say, washington.

Just six days before pulling out of the ABM Treaty, the administration broke up six years of absurd word-mongering over a bio treaty so worthless that Iraq is a signatory in good standing.
i really really wonder if america woulda signed IF IRAQ HAD REFUSED TO SIGN!

And the world has not risen up against us - no more than did the "Arab street", as another set of foreign policy experts were warning just weeks ago.
oh, so nothing’s happened for “just weeks”, eh? that about sums up the depth of your mentality, Hammer, i’m afraid. you slaughter thousands of impoverished people in a country on the other side of the planet and rejoice because there’s been no negative response after “just weeks”?! you remind me of the guy who jumped from the top floor of the WTC and, half way down, assured a friend on his mobile: “well, so far so good.”

The essence of unilateralism is that we do not allow others, no matter how well-meaning, to deter us from pursuing the fundamental security interests of the United States and the free world.
DO NOT SPEAK FOR ME YOU MONSTER WHO SHAMES ME FOR BEING HUMAN! nor, since the nuclear bomm, have my “security interests” felt less secure!

It is the driving motif of the Bush foreign policy. And that is the reason it has been so successful.
© 2001 The Washington Post Company
i hear what you are saying, krauthammer. and i don’t understand why i’m being so polite to a storm trooper like yourself who would march over my face without a thought. nor do i suppose it’s worth begging you to think just a second longer. what you’re really saying is that america has the power and there’s nobody can stop us doing ANYTHING WE WANT! why hide it, limit it or feel guilty about it? right? i know you agree with this statement!
but it’s fascism, brute force. once you remove cultural morality as you are doing, there’s really no reason america shouldn’t kick off slavery again, gun down demonstrators in the street, arrest and hold without evidence or court approval. once you give up cultural morality as u r advocating,
it’s the law of the jungle in the days of laser weapons, carpet cutters, and bubonic plague in shaving cream.

tell u what, Kraut Hammer. seeing as it’s xmas, how about the UN sets aside for you and george and the bully boys your own little planet to play on, with a whole nation of cloned Durgs for you guys to dominate and exploit to your heart’s content? ok?
please?

brutally disillusioned
i was brutally disillusioned yesterday. i spent an evening with a camera-person who’d spent 6 weeks in Afghanistan shooting the war. He had some heart-wrenching stories to tell, he was witness to atrocities being inflicted on Afghan women, children and refugees by those who anoint their pride by claiming to be sextons of truth - yes, these brutes are media people themselves!
Yes, American and European journalists, CNN staff, BBC, FOX guys. Apparently, they lured and raped, staged stories, and bought women. Many violated human rights. Journalists are staging stories? " haan bhai, zara wo wale ghar pe rocket chalana! 10 dollar doonga!" (Just throw a rocket into that house; I'll pay you $10) - " i will give you $2 if you give me your wife for a while!"

NEW WORD FOR "THEM"
My new favourite word to describe all of those people was defined for me
last week:
GIMPTARD (noun)
A person lacking reasoning abilities but unqualified for state assistance funds
.
lschrale / virginia

I wanta new word that means all the above. Maybe with a comical edge, not so nasty, but still pointed. ... let's figure out how to manage this thing, cause it's a durable spore of a mindset, compact and volatile, and we're all infested - comes with consciousness.

It is also not surprising that many westerners should remain complacent, perhaps mildly regretful, about the even more terrible suffering that has followed. The victims, after all, are miserable Afghans - "uncivilized tribes," as Winston Churchill described them with contempt when he ordered the use of poison gas to "spread a lively terror" among them 80 years ago, denouncing the "squeamishness" of the soft-hearted ninnies who failed to understand that chemical weapons were just "the application of modern science to modern warfare" and must be used "to procure a speedy termination of the disorder which prevails on the frontier." the gravity of black holes
The conventional theory of gravity says it results from a mass which somehow attracts other masses which are also causing gravity effects. Yet how could there be a strong gravity field pulling things into a black hole if the "speed of gravity" is less than the speed of light?
Nothing traveling below the speed of light can supposedly escape from inside a black hole. So gravity's effects would be confined to inside the black hole, right?

Which is why the theory that gravity is a push from infinity, equal in all directions, and attenuated by passing through mass makes more sense. On a single mass, the push would be equal from all directions. But two nearby masses would partially shield each other, resulting in a net impulse toward each other.
If the black hole's mass is a very effective gravity attenuator, the "gravity" we see would be the result of unbalanced "push" coming from outside the black hole's event horizon. Because of black holes, the conventional theory has trouble saying the "speed of gravity" is less than the "speed of light", but this alternate theory has no such problem.
Then again, we haven't had much opportunity to investigate the behaviour of an actual black hole, so who knows!

//YOU FEEDBACK A FOOTNOTE FOR THE FUTURE
Cheers to this commentary.
Living in Sydney Australia, the only impression we get from the media is that all of Israel is against Palestine. It is good to see that there are people saying these kinds of things from within Israel.
But sad that the only place to find out about it, is from this mag, and not from mainstream media.

!!! 10 WORLD TRADE CENTRES EVERY DAY FOR 150 DAYS !!!
Seven and a half million people are at risk of dying in a matter of weeks. That's 3 times the number of people Pol Pot took years to kill. That’s 35 times the number that died in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, combined. If 5,000 died on September 11, we're talking the equivalent number of deaths to 10 World Trade Centres every day for 150 days.

USAMA BIN LADEN WANTS YOU.... TO BUY A U.S. FLAG!
Investor's Business Daily reported this week that the Al-Quaeda terrorist network is now the beneficiary of vast sums of windfall profits derived from grieving, angry, red blooded, flag waving Americans.
In a cruel and perverse twist on stock market manipulation, the terrorists are cashing in on patriotism. As unbelievable as it is, the evil bin Laden is making millions of U.S. dollars off of the sale of American flags!
Prior to the September 11 attacks, in addition to selling short on American and
United Airline stock, evil Usa and friends were also stocking up on stock in old glory sweatshops overseas.
The terrorists now have major holdings in textile plants throughout China and Indonesia. These foreign flag factories are operating around the clock 7/24 utilizing the latest in child prison slave labor technology to keep up with soaring U.S. demand. Thanks to global trade agreements these not-made-in-America "American" flags account for over 80% of American flags sold in the United States today.
Question: How can I tell if my flag is made in America?
Answer: Easy, if it doesn't say "made in USA", it's not.
Question: What should I do with a "terrorist supporting" flag?
Answer: Simple, burn it.
U.S. flag law clearly states that when a flag is no longer fit to fly, it is properly destroyed by fire. The Supreme Court has agreed that flag burning is the right and duty of every American. Dear Fraser,
I thank you for your interesting reading once again, this week. If I don't agree, it doesn't matter, because it's not always about agreeing, huh? You still believe what you believe.
I guess I'd just like to say one thing, and that's this... what if you were wrong about some things, not everything, but some things you write?
Do you ever think about that? That you're not totally in the know about what's going on beneath the headlines? That maybe there are some valid reasons why we're going after Al-Quaeda? Hmmm. I wonder...
Just thought I'd write and let you know how I feel sometimes when I read your "I've figured out the diabolical western philosophy" newsletter.
Don't get me wrong, I love reading it, and I agree with some of your assertions, but I DON'T buy 100%.
singa1
straight off, YES, i offen wonder if i’m right :)
but that’s about VERY IMPORTANT
DETAILS. like do reptiles run the world as david icke maintains. would our leaders stoop as low as murdering their own people to further their plan or, more likely, just maintain their power? i confess i truly don’t know in these areas, and where i have real doubts i choose not to include such material. if u think the stuff i publish and write is WAY OVER THERE i assure you i get a TON of stuff that i don’t use :)
but i guess u probably want a deeper answer than that, like, bottom line, do i really believe our leaders are not acting with our good mostly in mind? do i ever doubt that? the answer is:
no, i don’t.
fundamentally, though, i continue to regard them as human beings driven by ignorance. driven, actually, by a system that, in its scrupulously defined ignorance, slowly and unwittingly turns them into war criminals :)
as for “valid reasons for going after al-quaeda”, if you look back to my very first line on the night of the bommings, you’ll see it’s what i’ve been saying ever since: “
TUFF ON TERRORISM AND TUFF ON THE CAUSES OF TERRORISM” and my fear all along was that we were only going to get the first haff and so far that’s exactly what we’ve had. right?
and that doesn’t DEAL with the problem of terrorism, that spreads it, postpones it and digs it in deeper. and that’s not just
STUPID, it’s DANGEROUS! it’s about the most dangerous thing you could do, with a billion muslims living on this little planet in 48 muslim countries.
let me end on this quote from
Anand Patwardhan:
“If the world is to be spared what future historians may call the "Century of Terror", we will have to chart the perilous course between the Scylla of American imperial arrogance and the Charybdis of Islamic religious fanaticism. Through these waters, we must steer by a distant star towards a careful, reasoned, democratic, humanistic, and secular future. Else, shipwreck is certain.”
